Copy Policy or Submission
The Copy Policy/Submission feature allows you to copy a policy or submission from the same customer or another customer to create a new policy or submission. Once you have copied the policy/submission you can make any changes needed.
You can copy a policy in two ways.
Option 1 (if you want to copy a policy from one customer to another):
- Open the customer you want to copy to.
- On the sidebar menu click Actions > New: Copy Policy. The Copy Policy/Submission data entry form appears.
- Search for the customer you want to copy the policy from. The field defaults from the customer you are copying to, but can be changed.
- Select the Policy # you want to copy from.
- Select the Effective Date of the policy you want to copy from.
- Enter/change the remaining fields for the new policy. For information on these fields, see the Copy Policy/Submission Selection section of this topic.
- Click OK. The Policy data entry form for the new policy appears.
Option 2 (if you want to copy a policy to a new policy for the same customer):
- Open the customer you want to copy to.
- On the sidebar menu click Views > Policies.
- Select the policy you want to copy.
- In sidebar menu, click Actions > New: Copy Policy data entry form appears.
- Repeat steps 3 - 7 above.
- Select the Customer you want to copy the submission from. The field defaults from the customer you are copying to, but can be changed.
- From the sidebar, select Views > Submissions.
- Click the Submission Group # that contains the submission you want to copy from. This opens the Submission Group form.
- Select the submission and click Copy. This launches the Copy Policy/Submission data entry form.
- Select the Effective Date of the submission you want to copy from.
- Enter/change the remaining fields for the new submission. For information on these fields, see the Copy Policy/Submission Selection section of this topic.
- Click OK. The Submission data entry form for the new submission appears.

Customer |
Select the Customer from whom you want to copy the policy. This field defaults from the customer you are copying to, but can be changed. Use Search to locate another customer. |

The number assigned to the policy by the company, If unknown use TBD or another substitute. You can change the number when you receive the policy. |

The date policy coverage begins or the proposed effective date of the submission. |

Expiration Date |
The date policy coverage expires. This date fills as one year from the Effective Date. You can select a different date. |

Continuous |
Select this check box if the policy or submission is continuous and does not have an expiration date. When selected, the Expiration Date field blanks out and becomes inactive. |

Transaction |
The Transaction type for the policy/submission. Select from the list. |

Description |
The Transaction pre-fills to this field. However, you can type a brief description that identifies the Transaction. This is especially important if you have multiple Transactions on the same day. |
