Personal Lines Rating (PL Rating) - an Overview
PL Rating harnesses technology allowing you to enter information once into a single interface and receive rates and related information directly from participating carriers in real-time along with manufactured rates from those carriers who have always been included in traditional comparative rating.
The ease-of-use, lack of maintenance and Web access is a huge benefit to most insurance professionals. Increasing workflow and efficiency by using PL Rating allows your agency to get back to their actual business - selling insurance.

PL Rating is available with Vertafore Single Sign-On. This means when you sign into AMS360, you'll also be signed into PL Rating. Additional setup is needed to use Vertafore Single Sign-On. |
Accessing PL Rating
To open PL Rating and pass policy information, open the customer and select the policy in the view that you want to rate.
- From the sidebar menu, select Actions > Integration Partners > PL Rating.
- From the Dec Page view, click the PL Rating icon.
- Within the policy, click the PL Rating icon on the menu bar.
Setting up PL Rating in AMS360
To integrate AMS360 and PL Rating, the following setups must be complete:
PL Rating Installation
The PL Rating application must be installed on the workstation you want to integrate with AMS360.
Licensing
Your agency must be licensed for PL Rating. The license is purchased from Vertafore and is applied by the Data Center or, for in-house agencies, passed to your system by the Data Center.

Security Assignments
When your agency is licensed for PL Rating you will have a permanent PL Rating Security Group. Anyone who uses PL Rating must be assigned to this Security Group before they can access PL Rating from the various links within AMS360.
- Open the Administration Center. On the General menu, click Security Group Setup. The Security Group Setup data entry form appears.
- Locate the PL Rating group and select it. Click Edit.
- In the Employee Assignment section check each employee who will be using PL Rating with AMS360.
- When you have finished making your employee assignments click Update.
- Click Save & Close from the toolbar.
