Voiding a Journal Entry
The Journal Entry Void form allows you to void a posted journal entry. You may need to void a journal entry if one or more of the voucher detail lines on a journal entry was posted to the wrong general ledger account.
TJournal Entries with a type of LJE cannot be voided. These journal entries are system generated when a cash receipt is posted to a bank in a different division from the invoice. You must void the receipt to reverse these types of journal entries. |
- Access the appropriate Center, and then select the specific customer, company, employee or vendor associated with the journal entry.
- Select Views > Register, if not already selected.
- Do one of the following:
- For the Customer register, expand the header row containing the journal entry to be voided or click Expand All and then scroll to the desired row.
- For other registers, locate the journal entry in the Register view and adjust View Options, if necessary.
- Click the Void icon.
- Complete the Journal Entry Void form, as appropriate.
- Click the Post icon. Click the Cancel icon or select File > Cancel if you opened this form in error or to take no action.
- Access the Financial Center.
- If not already open, click the Journal Entries view.

The General Information section of the Journal Entry Void form displays the journal entry posting date, reference number assigned, name of the person who made the original entry, and any journal entry memo information for the original journal entry.
The Vouchers section displays all voucher rows in the original entry. Review this information to confirm you opened the correct journal entry. These fields cannot be modified.
