Session Time Outs
When working in AMS360, if the software is idle for the time frame set in Agency Setup, and you attempt to do something in an open session requiring credentials, a login screen appears and requires you to reenter valid login information before completing the task. Type in your password and click Login to re-establish your login credentials. Once your credentials are re-established, the requested task is performed.
To change the Session Timeout, open the Agency Setup form > System Configuration section, and change the time in the Set Session Timeout to (hours):(minutes) Minutes field and Save.
You must have appropriate security to change the session time out.
Example
You are adding/updating data in a data entry form, the changes are recorded at your workstation and are not saved to the server database until you save.
Because the system gives you the ability to switch between various tasks at the workstation, such as viewing a policy, printing a certificate, logging a telephone call, you can leave a data entry form and not return to it until later in your work session. This can result in the server reporting a "time out" to the workstation.
It is important to understand that when you return to complete the data entry form you may be required to reenter your login, but you will continue from where you left off with no loss of data. Data loss occurs only if you close the data entry form without saving.
