Workflow: Deleting Personnel on a Policy
This is a step-by-step procedure on how to delete personnel from unbilled and billed policies.
If Billings Do Not Exist on a Policy
- Open the customer and policy with the personnel you want to delete. How?
- Expand the Basic Policy Information > Personnel section of the Policy form.
- In the Personnel grid, select the person to be deleted. Click Delete from the section menu. The Delete Personnel form appears.
- Personnel deleted when no billings exist are deleted as of the effective date of the policy. The Effective As Of field defaults to the policy effective date and cannot be changed.
- The Type and Name pre-fill with the person you selected to delete and cannot be changed.
- If you attempt to delete an employee who is a member of the Primary Service Team a message appears saying that a primary exec or rep cannot be deleted. To delete this personnel you must designate another employee as part of the primary service team. This will take the designation off of the person you wish to delete.
A primary broker can be deleted. - The only Delete Option available on an unbilled policy is Remove Personnel from Policy. The deletion is effective as of the effective date of the policy.
- Click OK. You are returned to the Policy form. To permanently record the change, click Save or Save & Close.
If Billings Exist on a Policy
Commissions for deleted persons are changed to 0 (zero) on all invoices with invoice effective dates that fall on or after the employee's inactive date.
- Open the Customer and Policy that has the personnel you want to delete. How?
- Expand the Basic Policy Information > Personnel section of the Policy form.
- In the Personnel grid, select the person to be deleted. Click Delete from the section menu. The Delete Personnel on Billed Policy form appears.
- When billings exist on a policy, personnel can be deleted as of the policy effective date by choosing the Remove Personnel from Policy option, or you can delete the personnel as of a specify date by using the Make Personnel Inactive On option. Then, fill in the date (inside the policy period) you want to delete the personnel.
- The Delete Date automatically fills the Effective As of date and cannot be changed.
- The Build Commission Options are only visible on billed policies

- Click OK. A message appears indicating that the Change Personnel Commissions form will load to allow you to review or edit commissions for previously billed invoices. See Correcting Invoices for help using this form.
- You are returned to the Policy form. To permanently record the change, click Save or Save & Close.
