Workflow: Send an Email to a List of AMS360 Customers
In today's technical world it's often more efficient and less costly to send email messages to your clients instead of printing and mailing letters. You can use email for a number of situations: cross-selling, birthday wishes, or acknowledgment of other special occasions.
Creating an email of a list of customers assumes you have already created the Target List. For help in creating the Target List see the Workflow: Create Target List topic.
Now you'll associate your target list with a form letter and send it to the customers on your list via email.
- On the Target List window, with your list selected, click the Form Letter icon on the toolbar.
- The Form Letters data entry form appears. The Customer Selection Type shows "Target List" and the saved target list appears in the Select List field.
- Choose a Category and Document Name. Add a Description to Activity indicating this is an email via form Letters (and any other special information you want to appear in the Activity).
- If you need to log an activity for the target list members, verify that Activity Logging is turned on for "Form Letters" (Multiple Customer letter) in Activity/Suspense Setup.
- Click File > Edit & Merge.
- The unmerged document appears. If you need to make edits, do it now before the merge. When you are ready to send the email, click the Mailings tab.
- Locate and click Finish & Merge > Send E-Mail Messages...
- The Merge to E-mail dialog box appears. From the To list, select Cust_EMail merge field. Enter the subject line for the email and choose a mail format. Click OK.
- An email is sent to each customer in your Target List and an activity is logged for each customer (if Activity Logging is turned on).
