Defaulting Parent Company as a Writing Company

As a new policy, the Parent Company is only defaulted as a Writing Company when no writing companies currently exist for the Parent Company.

1. Users are forced to select the Writing Company on new / rewrite / renewal policy entries instead of defaulting to the Parent Company. This process improves data quality.

   1. Example: Once a user selects “Parent Company,” the Writing Company will be left blank; this therefore forces the user to select the required value.

   

2. If no Writing Companies exist, the Writing Company field will default to the Parent Company .

   

This process ensures data quality by decreasing the possibility of selecting an incorrect Writing Company while creating a policy, since the user is forced to select the required Writing Company.
