Here are some rules for understanding the report, and how to interpret the results:
Employee Name and Role
The Employee Summary contains all employees. The list is not limited based on employee type or status:
- Values are automatically allocated to employees assigned commission in billing. Employees not assigned commission in billing do not appear in the report detail report nor the employee summary view.
- You may see multiple rows for an employee when that employee has multiple roles in the data. This allows you to know whether the employee was in a primary role or an additional personnel role.
- If you want to filter based on employee role, click the filter icon above the table on the right side, choose Employee Role and select the filter you want.
Original Transaction - New Business/Renewal Group Summaries
If you choose one of these groupings for a Summary, please note:
- When you select Original Transaction, it reports the earliest policy transaction for the policy. Data associated with a Policy Change transaction would be reported as Original Transaction = New Business, when the earliest transaction for the policy is New Business.
- When you select New Business/Renewal Group, it reports data as New Business/Renewal Group = New Business when the earliest policy transaction is New Business. When the earliest policy transaction is not New Business then data is reported as New Business/Renewal Group = Renewal Group.
If a policy has New Business as the earliest transaction and the term is six months, the data associated with the first Renewal will be reported as New Business/Renewal Group = Renewal Group. |
Non-Premium Rules
The following rules apply for non-premium type of business:
- Data is reported by non-premium charge description.
- The original AMS360 Classic report only reported fees paid to the company when the agency received commission on these fees. My Agency Reports can include all fees paid to the company, not just those with agency commission. The full company fee is reported as Non-Premium. Consequently, do not compare the Classic report column "NonPrem Comm Vol" with the Non-Premium data column.
Invoice Bill Method
Understanding the impact of where and how an invoice is billed and the interplay with the Include Basis is important to understanding the data on your report.
Customer Center
Invoices posted in the Customer Center are identified as Source = Agency Bill or Direct Bill on the Customer Invoice. If billing occurs from the Customer Center the following rules apply:
- When the Include Basis = Later of Invoice Date
The date an invoice is assigned an invoice number, not equal to zero./ Invoice Effective Date
The Invoice Effective Date is based on either the Policy Transaction Date for invoices billed as full pay, or the Installment Date for invoices billed on an installment plan.:
- If the invoice is not associated with a Binder Transaction, the invoice is reported on the later of the invoice date/Invoice Effective Date.
- If the invoice is associated with a Binder Transaction that has not been replaced, and the Binder Post Method (agency setup) is "Post Expense After Replaced on Later of Effective or Replace Date", the invoice is not reported. This invoice cannot be reported until the Binder Transaction has been replaced.
- If the invoice is associated with a Binder Transaction that has been replaced, and the Binder Post Method (agency setup) is "Post Expense After Replaced on Later of Effective or Replace Date", the invoice is reported when the later of Invoice Date/Invoice Effective Date/Replace Date is in the Report Range.
- If the invoice is associated with a Binder Transaction and the Binder Post Method (agency setup) is "Post Expense on Effective Date", the invoice is reported on the later of the invoice date/Invoice Effective Date. Whether the Binder Transaction has been replaced is not evaluated.
- When the Include Basis = Invoice Effective Date:
- The invoice is reported when the Invoice Effective Date is in the Report Range.
Direct Bill Statement
When billing occurs on the Direct Bill Statement the invoices are identified as Source = Comm Stmt on Customer Invoice View.
- When the Include Basis = Later of Invoice Date / Invoice Effective Date:
- If the invoice is not associated with a Binder Transaction, the invoice is reported when Invoice Date is in the Report Range.
- If the invoice is associated with a Binder Transaction that has not been replaced and the Binder Post Method (agency setup) is "Post Expense After Replaced on Later of Effective or Replace Date", the invoice is not available for reporting (must be replaced).
- If the invoice is associated with a Binder Transaction that has been replaced and the Binder Post Method (agency setup) is "Post Expense After Replaced on Later of Effective or Replace Date", the invoice is reported on the Replace Date.
- If the invoice is associated with a Binder Transaction and the Binder Post Method (agency setup) is "Post Expense on Effective Date", the invoice is reported when the Invoice Date is in the Report Range.
- When the Include Basis = Invoice Effective Date:
- The invoice is reported when the Invoice Effective Date is in the Report Range.
Direct Bill Entry Statement
When billing occurs on the Direct Bill Entry Statement the invoices are identified as Source = Direct Bill Entry on the Customer Invoice View.
- When the Include Basis = Later of Invoice Date/Invoice EffDate:
- The invoice is reported when the Invoice Date is in the Report Range.
- When the Include Basis = Invoice Effective Date:
- The invoice is reported when the Invoice Effective Date is in the Report Range.
