Zip Codes and State Codes Overview

All United States codes and required foreign codes are included on your system when it is installed. Five-digit ZIP Codes are installed on your system on a state-by-state basis.

You can add ZIP Codes and state codes to the personalization file at any time. ZIP Codes are linked to cities and states so that when you type a ZIP Code, the correct city and state automatically pre-fill.

Where state and zip code information goes

The information established in the ZIP and State Code files pre-fill to the following:

• Basic Client and Contact pages
• Policy processing page
• Accounting pages

Most pages throughout the system display a State Code field and a ZIP Code field.

You may need to add codes if you do business in other countries, or if you add a new state to your customer base.

Note that you can:

• Attach each ZIP Code to only one city.
• Add a four-digit extension to any ZIP Cde.

Every ZIP Code that your agency uses must exist in the ZIP Code file.

You can add or change a ZIP Code using any ZIP Code field.
