Adding a Signature in Sagitta

Add a new signature in Staff Codes.

This section has two fields: Signature [which holds the signature image file] and Division(s) [for personalizing the divisions that will have access to this signature].

Signature Field:

  • Click Browse and navigate to a stored image file.

  • The following file types are acceptable; .bmp, .jpg, .jpeg and .png. The image has a maximum size of 64Kb.

  • For optimal display, Vertafore recommends the size of the image should be 500 x 100 pixels and created with a felt-tip pen (see note below).

Use the Remove button to clear out the Signature field. When a signature has been removed from a staff code, that staff code will no longer be displayed in the Search results for Signature in the Vertafore eForms Create Forms page.

Division(s) Field:

  • Click "Search" to see the list of divisions in the Company Master file. Select one or more divisions to allow access to that signature for policies in those divisions.

  • The Division(s) field works in conjunction with the Division Security field on the eForms Signatures Personalization page. If Division Security is set to "On" as the user searches in the Signature field on the Create Forms page, only the signatures personalized for that division of the policy will be displayed.

  • When no divisions are personalized, the signature is accessible to policies in all divisions.

  • A personalized signature with these divisions will be accessible to Vertafore eForms created for policies in Divisions 1 and 2.

  • A personalized signature with no divisions will be accessible to Vertafore eForms created for policies in any division.

Tips for Creating the Largest and Darkest Signature Possible
  • Begin with a signature box the size of the one below.

  • Sign within the signature field by using a black, soft-tip felt pen.

Use a soft felt-tip pen with black ink to write your signature. A PaperMate Flair pen is one example of an ideal pen for this purpose.

  • Make your signature as large as possible, while carefully remaining inside the box. Specifically, use as much of the vertical space as possible.

  • Press down relatively hard while signing.

  • Scan the page through the printer while using the "Full Color" setting. The doc type will default to PDF, so be sure to change it to JPG.

  • Email the scanned image to yourself.

  • Open the image using Paint (but NOT Paint 3D).

  • Clip out only the signature itself from the form; be sure not to capture the yellow lines around the field, if you are using the Custom form.

  • Paste this image into a new Paint session. The new image will be smaller than the limits shown in the Staff Codes page.

The signature file should be one of the following types: .bmp, .jpg, .jpeg, or .png, with a maximum size of 64KB. The image is recommended to be no larger than 500 pixels wide by 100 pixels high.

  • Click "Resize."

  • Switch to "Pixels."

  • Change "Width" to a value between 496 and 498; the Height will change with it so long as "Maintain aspect ratio" has been checked.

  • Save the image as a .bmp 24-bit bitmap

  • Check the size of the image; if it is greater than 64 KB, perform the Resize function again while adjusting the value low enough for it to meet the 64 KB size requirement.
