Individual PDB Report

Use the Individual PDB Report service to view a complete transcript of an individual licensee's information from all regulatory jurisdictions: all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The PDB Individual InquiryIndividual PDB Report service obtains its information from the national Producer Database (PDB), which is fed regular updates directly from the states.

You also may choose to submit a resident or non-resident license application for the licensee, directly from the licensee's PDB transcript report.

A full PDB transcript incurs service fees; however at no charge you may use the Individual PDB Report service simply to check if an individual holds an insurance-related license and the date on which the individual's PDB information last was updated.

Use the following steps:

Getting Started

  1. In the AgencyEDGE navigation bar, click the Transactions link. The Transaction List will open in the Home page.
  2. In the Producer Information Inquiries group, click the Download PDB Report - Individual link. The PDB Report - Individual page will open.

Enter Search Criteria

  1. Review the list of states in the States Participating in PDB section to confirm that information from the state of the individual whose data you want to view is available on the PDB.
  2. Required. In the Individual SSN field enter the individual's full Social Security Number.
  3. Required. In the Last Name field, enter the individual's last name.

OR

In the National Producer Number field, enter the individual's NPN.

  1. From the Cost Center dropdown menu, select a cost center to which to assign the cost of the PDB lookup.
  2. Click the Submit button. A list of all individual producers that met your search criteria will display in a list. Or, if no producers met your search criteria, the following message will display: "There are no Entities that match your search requirements."

At no charge you may use the Individual PDB Report service simply to check the date on which an individual's PDB information last was updated.

  1. In the search results list, in the Free Information column click the Last Updated Info link that corresponds to a selected producer. The page will refresh to show the Free Information section, displaying the dates on which specific data sections were updated on the PDB.
  2. If desired, click the producer's Name link to open the producer's full PDB transcript report. If you do, you will incur a charge for the PDB lookup.
  3. Click the Back button to return to the search results.

You can view a producer's entire PDB transcript, or you can filter the transcript to include only selected data sections.

  1. In the search results list, in the Name column click a selected producer's name link

In the Free Information section, click the selected producer's name link. The page will refresh and display the selected producer's PDB transcript report. The Results section may include the following types of information:

  • Demographics: Birth date, aliases, and contact information
  • Date Updated: Date on which the most recent change in the information was received by the PDB
  • License/Appointment Summary: Active and inactive licenses, qualifications, and appointments. Grouped by state, by default
  • Certifications and Clearances
  • Regulatory Actions
  1. Use the vertical scrollbar to review the report in its entirety

OR

In the Filter Options section at the top of the page, choose from among the following options to change the format and content of the report:

  • To group data by state rather than by type of information, in the Report Format section click to select the Group by State radio button
  • To filter the report to display only a particular type of information rather than all information, in the Report Information section click to checkmark the checkbox corresponding to one or multiple data section types
  • To filter the report to display information obtained only from one or multiple states rather than all states, click to expand the Advanced Filter Options dropdown and then click to checkmark the checkbox corresponding to one or multiple states
  • Click the Apply Filter button. The report will refresh to reflect your filter options.
  1. To print the report, click the Print button () at the top of the page or press Ctrl + P on your computer keyboard.
  2. When you are finished, click the New Inquiry button. The search page will open.

You can initiate a new license application for a selected producer directly from the producer's PDB transcript report.

  1. At the bottom of the page, from the dropdown menu, select Resident License Application to apply for a new resident license on the producer's behalf. For more information, see Apply for an Individual Resident License

OR

From the dropdown menu, select Non-Resident License Application to apply for a new non-resident license on the producer's behalf. For more information, see Apply for an Individual Non-Resident License.

  1. Click the Process button. The start page for the selected service will open.

Click the Transactions link in the navigation bar or the breadcrumbs to exit.

A Individual PDB Report transcript is obtained from the national Producer Database (PDB), which in turn obtains its data from all participating states. Because state regulators' promptness in feeding updates to the PDB may vary, the Individual PDB Report transcript does not contain real-time data, and you may notice discrepancies between data in a PDB transcript and data obtained from real-time data sources, such as the service or a state insurance department website.

To check the ongoing processing status of one or multiple PDB status checks, use the Producer Information Lookup Activity service.

You may enter a portion of a producer's names in the Last Name, First Name, or Middle Name fields combined with an asterisk (*) to perform a "wildcard" search. The search will return all records of producers whose names satisfied the wildcard search. (For example, if you enter "Jo*" in the First Name field, the system will return all records of producers whose first names begin with "Jo", including "John," "Joseph," "Jody," etc.)

The system searches for records containing all – not just any – of the search criteria you enter. So if you enter valid search criteria in every field except one, the system will not retrieve the record. If no record is found, try reducing the amount of data entered.

Search criteria are not case-sensitive.

Cost Center may be a required field in your company's configuration of AgencyEDGE.

In the Filter Options section of a PDB transcript report, you may click the Apply Filter button as many times as desired to customize the view of the currently displaying PDB inquiry without incurring additional charges.

In the Filter Options section of a PDB transcript report, use the Company Appointments and the States filter controls together to show only appointment data for one or multiple My Companies in one or multiple states.
