Move a Document or Page

If you find documents or pages that are filed incorrectly (in the wrong folder for example), you can move them to the correct location using the Move functionality.

  1. Select the document or page to be moved.

You can select multiple documents or pages by pressing and holding Ctrl while you click each document or page that needs to be moved. You can also select a series of documents or pages by selecting the first document or page, pressing and holding Shift, and then clicking the last document or page.

  1. If you are moving a document, click Actions, and then click Move. If you are moving a page, at the bottom of the screen click , and then click Move.

  1. In Move Document, you can move the document or page within the same file, or you can search for a file name or number to place the document or page in a different file.

If you are moving a document you can change the document type if needed. If you are moving a page, you can create a new folder or document.

    1. Folder – Click New Folder, and then select a folder type from the list.

    2. Document –Select the new document type from the drop-down list.
    3. Page – Click New Document, and then select an available document type from the list.

  1. In the columns, proceeding from left to right, select the destination for the document or page.
The folder and document structure displayed is based on the file stricture for your organization. If your organization uses folders within folders (often referred to as nested folders), the appearance of Move Document will change to display the subfolders.
  2. Click Move to complete the move. If you change your mind, click Cancel to dismiss the changes.

  3. Click Go To Location if you want to open the destination location for the moved document or page.
If you do not click Go To Location, the dialog box closes automatically.
