Process WorkSmart Tasks

Tasks are pieces of work created in a workflow so they can be completed based on the needs of your organization.

Tasks and diary items can be found in the Work Queue. You can Open, Reassign, Reschedule, Route, Set Attributes, Set Priority, Delete, Close, and/or Complete a WorkSmart task using either the Work Queue or the task area located at the bottom of an open task. Click the button to view the task menu. Alternatively, you can right-click a task to view these options.

In many cases, the same task actions can be performed on the Documents tab when the task is open. The task area shows the following task information:

  • Description
  • Workflow and step information
  • Assignment information
  • Status
  • Sent information
  • Available date

Clicking displays the task menu.

  • You can click the arrow next to the task area to show or hide the task area as needed.
  • In the topics listed below, we discuss specific task actions that you can perform using either the Work Queue or the task area.
