Company Direct Download
Some companies use direct communication, meaning they do not use the IVANS Network to store and transfer data. With direct communication, you communicate with the company directly.
For more information on Progressive Direct Download click here. |
The following sections provide information on Company Direct Download and are listed in the order they should be performed:
- Before you begin the direct communication process, install the company's software. If you have not received the software, contact your company.
- Enter the company's Origination Address. See the Download Addresses section of Company Setup for more information.
- Enter your agency's Participant Code. See the System Configuration Options section of Agency Setup.
After you have completed the Company Direct Download Setup, the company begins to send you transactions via their software. The following sections define the process involved in picking up and processing the data.
The company will advise you of their schedule for sending Company Direct Download data. When you know there is a download file for your agency, you will run a Company Direct Download File Retrieval.
Use the company's instructions for the file retrieval. Once you have successfully downloaded the file, use the following procedure to move the file to the AMS360 database:
- Click 360Toolbox, and select Integration > Download > Move Download Files. The Move Files form appears.
- Click Browse and Move Files. Navigate to the location of your download file. Select the file and click Open. The file is moved to AMS360.
- If Move Files completes successfully, AMS360 automatically launches Process Transactions, which stores the policy transactions in your database and attempts to match the transactions to customers and policies.
- After that process is complete a suspense item appears, for the assigned download user, advising if there are customers and policies to assign. See Customer/Policy Assignment for information on that process.
When the download file is merged into your database, AMS360 may not be able to match the information with a customer. In these cases you will review the unmatched transactions and assign them to the proper customer. For more information on this process, see Customer/Policy Assignment.
When you are finished assigning customers and policies you should run Process Transactions to merge the newly assigned customers and policies into your database.
After assigning customers and policies run Process Transactions to merge the newly assigned customers and policies into your database. Use the following procedure to do this:
- From a center or data entry form that has a Toolbox menu, select 360 Toolbox > Integration > Download > Process Transactions. The following message appears: Process Transactions has been scheduled to run for agency dnlmain on the server.
- The message indicates that Process Transactions is pending. Click OK. The employee(s) set up to Log Download Suspense will receive a Suspense when the file has been processed. (See the General section of the Employee topic for more information on the Log Download Suspense option.)
The suspense will include one of the following two messages:
If the suspense says... |

Download session concluded. Please review Download Report for important messages. |
Print and review the Download Detail Report for information about the processing of the file. |
Store Transactions complete - Some transactions require manual customer/policy assignment. |
Repeat Customer/Policy Assignment. There are additional customers and policies to be matched. Reports may be incomplete if viewed or printed before completing Customer/Policy Assignment and processing these transactions. |
When you have matched and merged all customers and policies in a download file it is important to print the Download Report. This report lists items that require further attention. See the Report - Download topic for more information.
