Garage and Dealers LOB - Garage Coverages and Limits

You can enter garage coverages and limits covered by the Garage and Dealers Line of Business in the Garage Coverages/Limits section of the Garage and Dealers Line of Business data entry form.

To add or edit a coverage and limit in the Garage and Dealers Line of Business form:

Click New (or Edit) and enter the following information. When finished, click Add (or Update). The updated information appears in the associated grid. To add multiple entries, repeat this procedure.

Get Coverages

Use to create coverages based on the covered auto symbols you selected in the previous section. Click this button to create pre-determined coverages in the coverage list. You can then add, edit, or delete items in the list. Click Coverages to see the default coverages created.

Default New Vehicle Coverages

From Line of Business: If the default setting is set to "From Line of Business" and there are no coverage rows at the line of business level, no coverages default to vehicle.

From Last Vehicle: Choosing this option means the coverages literally from the last vehicle you entered, which is not necessarily the last one in the list. If the default setting is set to "From Last Vehicle" and there are no vehicle rows, or if no coverages exist for the vehicle, no coverages default.

If vehicles, including coverages, are copied over from Copy Line of Business, you cannot select to default new vehicle coverages as the vehicles and coverages were copied over simultaneously.

Update Vehicle Coverages

Click to allow the system to determine if the Limit1, Limit2, Deductible Amt, Deductible Type has changed for any coverage during the policy’s effective date; or if a coverage row has been added.

Coverages are only updated for vehicles not marked as Exclude from coverage auto update under the Vehicle Information section.

Coverage Level

Line of Business: Select this option if the coverage you are entering applies at the line of business level versus the individually scheduled item.

State: Select this option if the coverage is based on the state. Then select the state from the list.

Location: Select this option if the coverage applies to the location versus line of business, state, or individually scheduled item. If you choose the Location option, select the location from the list.

Coverage

Select the appropriate coverage from the list.

Form Section

The Form Section refers to the section of the ACORD 138 form where data about the selected Coverage appears. For integrated coverages, the system selection defaults to the appropriate section. If necessary, you can select a section from the list.

Sort Order #

Type the order that this coverage should appear in the grid and on forms.

Limit 1, Limit 2

Type the single or split limits that apply to this coverage.

If your coverage selection is "Other than Auto Only/Gar Ops Liab," entered at the Line of Business level, the amount you enter for Limit 1 populates this field on the ACORD 138 form: Limits of Liability > Garage Operations > Other Than Auto Only > Ea Accident. The amount you enter for Limit 2 populates the Limits of Liability > Garage Operations > Other Than Auto Only > Aggregate.

If your coverage selection is "Auto Only/Gar Ops Liab," entered at the Line of Business level, the amount you enter for Limit 1 populates this field on the ACORD 138 form: Limits of Liability > Garage Operations > Auto Only > Ea Accident. (Limit 2 does not flow to the form for this coverage.)

Premium

Type the cost of this coverage.

Number of

Based on the coverage, type the number of items at risk, if applicable.

Rate

Type the rate at which coverage is calculated.

Deductibles

Amt. 1 and Amt. 2: Type the amount of the first and second deductibles that apply to the coverage you are entering.

Type 1 and Type 2: Select the type of the first and second deductibles from the list.

Garage Operations

Indicate whether the garage operations are limited or unlimited.

Medical Payments

Indicate whether the medical payments are per automobile or premise operations (garage and auto).

Miscellaneous Information

Enter any additional information that applies to the coverage you are entering.
