Changing Personnel Commissions

When making a change of personnel assignment to a policy that has existing billings, the Change Personnel Commissions form displays so that necessary revisions can be made to previously billed invoices.

The Change Personnel Commissions form displays when taking the following actions from within the Basic Policy Information > Personnel section of a policy:

Prior to loading the Change Personnel Commissions form, the following informational message appears. Click OK to proceed:

To edit commissions on a billed policy, you must do a Correct Billing.

ClosedAll Policy Transactions

The All Policy Transactions section includes all invoices billed for all policy transactions, and is expanded when the correction form opens. Use the left and right arrow buttons to scroll through the invoices/installments.

If this is a multi-entity billing, use the left and right arrow buttons to select a specific sub-customer or select the Consolidate Commission View (default). Click Multi Entity View, to open and view the Multi Entity Transaction Detail for the policy transaction selected.

Selecting a different installment saves the changes made on installments already selected and updated.

Fields Available for Correction

What is this?

Invoice Date

Select the Invoice Datefor your correction. This field defaults to the current system date.

ClosedInvoice Transactions

The Invoice Transactions section includes only the invoice selected in the All Policy Transactions section. Click Edit on the section menu to open the Invoice Transactions section. The following fields are available for editing:

Description

The line of business and policy transaction assigned to the invoice defaults to the Descriptionfield. This can be changed, if desired.

Invoice Effective Date

You are allowed to change the Invoice Effective Date on all invoices, including future invoices.

You may get a message advising that this could change the number of installments. Click OK.

Type of Transaction

What is this?

Billed Transaction With an Invoice Number

The correct action reverses the original invoice with the old invoice effective date, using the original invoice number.

It is then re-billed for the new invoice effective date, using a new invoice number.

Future Invoices

The correct action changes the invoice effective date.

ClosedChanging Commissions

Select the invoice transaction you want to correct and click Edit to open the Invoice Transactions section. The Commissions subsection is also available for corrections. To access the fields type the correcting information directly into the Commissions grid.

Click the New Split Agency Comm option on the section menu to add rows of agency commission to accommodate split commissions. Change the premium/non-premium amount and commission rate as appropriate for each row.

Premium/Non-Premium

When splitting the agency commission, by clicking New Split Agency Comm on the section menu, enter the appropriate premium/non-premium amounts.

If you are not splitting the agency commission, thePremium/Non-Premiumfields are unavailable for change.

Percent

Enter the new commission percent if applicable. Typing in a new commission percentage automatically updates the Comm Amt(commission dollar amount) field.

Comm Amt

Enter the new commission amount if applicable. Typing in a new commission amount automatically updates the Percent(commission percent) field.

This choice determines how the commission is calculated. Select the appropriate method.

ClosedInvoice Installment Summary

The Invoice Installment Summary grid is display only. The grid rows are updated as the installments in the Invoice Transactions section of the correction form are changed.

ClosedPosting & Canceling

Complete the sections of the Change Personnel Commission form, then click the File menu at the top of the form and select one of the following actions (or click the corresponding icon):

Use to post your commission corrections and close the form when posting is complete. Selecting Post displays the Correction Note form.

Enter the correction note and click Continue Postingor clickReturn to Invoicesif you are not finished making your corrections.

Cancel

Click Cancel to cancel the commission correction. This brings up the following message. Click OKto complete theCancelaction, or clickCancelto abortCancelaction and return to theChange Personnel Commissionsform.
