Refine Merge Field

This data entry form allows you to define the element to be merged, eliminating the need for a Q & A form to appear in the merge process. If you do not complete this process, the person creating the form letter may be required to identify this information at the time the merged document is created.

You can access the Refine Merge Field data entry form from the Merge Field Editorby doing the following:

What is this?

Include

Check the box next to the data element you want automatically merged into the form letter. This eliminates the Q & A form during the merge.

If more than one data element is selected, then a Q & A form appears during the merge process.

Data to filter - description

View only. Displays the description of the data element to assist you in choosing what information to include.

Data to filter - code

View only. Displays the code associated with the data element to assist you in choosing what information to include.
