Workflow: Renew/Rewrite a Policy from Submission

After successfully marketing an expiring policy via the submission process in AMS360 you can turn the submission into a renewal/rewrite policy. Use the following procedure to complete the process:

Using Renewal Management

  1. Find the Expiring Policy:

  2. At the User Center select the My Renewals Tab.

  3. Locate the expiring policy, which shows in the marketing stage and has a Submission Group Number, and click the policy number.

Do NOT click R beside the policy. Doing so initiates a Quick Renew, which renews the expiring policy as is, instead of using the submission. In this workflow we'll renew using the submission, not the expiring policy.

  1. Initiate the renewal from the policy data entry form:

  2. On the policy data entry form, click Renew on the toolbar.

Continue with Step 3 below.

Without Renewal Management

  1. Find Customer:

  2. From the Customer Center, search for, select and open the customer.

  1. Locate and Renew/Rewrite the Expiring Policy:

  2. On the Policy tab locate and select the expiring policy.

  3. Click Renew at the top of the Policy tab.

Continue with Step 3 below.

  1. Renew/Rewrite Using the Submission:

  2. At the Create Renewal/Rewrite window, choose from the list the submission you want to use to renew/rewrite the policy and click OK.

By choosing the submission here, you create the renewal/rewrite policy using the data from the submission, not the expiring policy.

  1. Create forms:

  2. Open eForms Manager from the menu or toolbar.

  3. Select the forms to create.

  4. Print or email the forms.

  1. Invoice the policy:

  2. Expand the Transactions Premiums/Billing section.

  3. Enter the premium for the Line of Business. If this is a package policy with multiple Lines of Business, enter the premium for each. Select New to enter Fees, Taxes, Finance, and Down Payment transactions, if applicable.

  4. Click the Create Invoice link. The invoice data entry form opens.

  5. Verify/update the invoice transaction as necessary.

  6. Select Post, Post and Print, or Post and Email. The Policy form reappears.

  1. Log Activity and create Suspense per your agency procedures.
