Report: Commission Payable Statement

Use this report to manage and report commission amounts due to your employees and/or brokers. The employee/broker name, address, business phone and email address are included on the report.

In addition, you can sort the information on this report by customer name (default), policy number, or bill method.

ClosedPrerequisite

Before you can print a Commission Payable Statement, you must generate it first. For more information on creating commission payable statements, see Pay Commissions - Statement Modifiers.

ClosedAccessing the Commission Payable Statement

This report is accessible from any center or form with a Toolbox menu. Selecting Toolbox>Reports takes you to the Reports - All list, where you can make your selection.

Click Commission Payable Statement. This opens the Report - Commission Payable Statement selection form. Make your selections, pull down the File menu and select to:

Commission Person Type

Select All (default) to include commission payable statements for the commission person types listed below:

  • Employee

  • Broker

When All is selected, the Employee, Broker, and Statement fields are disabled.

Employee

This field is enabled only when the Commission Person TypeisEmployee. Select the employee you want to run the commission statement for.

Broker

This field is enabled only when the Commission Person Type is Broker. Select the broker you want to run the commission statement for.

Division

Choose One or All (default) divisions. The divisions appearing in the list are subject to division security.

  • If the user has access to any of the departments in the division, then they have access to all of the commission payable statements in that division.

  • If All divisions are selected for printing, the report only includes commission payable statements belonging to divisions for which the user has security rights.

Statement

Statement Selection

You can select a specific statement or All statements.

The Statement combo is disabled when the Commission Person Type = All.

  1. Select the Commission Person Typebroker or employee.

  2. Select a specific employee or broker from the appropriate list. The Refresh button is enabled.

  3. Click Refresh to fill the Statement combo with only those statements belonging to the selected employee/broker and divisions.

Sort Order

The statements in the list are sorted by Statement Date (oldest to newest), then by Division, then by Payment Status (In Progress, Paid and Posted, Ready to Pay), and then by Description.

Statement Date Range

Options

What is this?

From List

Use this option to select a pre-defined date range from the list. The default is Current Date.

Select Dates

Use this option to type in a specific date range not covered by the choices in the From Listoption.

Status

If you want to select only those statements with a specific status, select either:

  • In Progress

  • Paid and Posted (default)

  • Ready to Pay

  • Voided

This field is disabled and blank if a specific statement is selected.

Show Agency Commission

This box defaults as checked meaning that agency commissions appear on the report. Uncheck this box to suppress the agency commission report column.

Totals Only

Check this box to report statement totals only, without invoice-level detail.

Include Invoices with 0.00 Pay Amounts

Check this box to report invoices for which no Pay Amounts are entered.

Use this feature to report all invoices included in the statement build, even if no Pay Amount is entered for the invoice. This is helpful when running a report for an In Progress statement to determine if additional invoices should be paid to the employee.

Filter Offsetting Items

Check this box to hide rows for backed out invoices and their corresponding offsetting rows.

Sort Order

This field gives you the opportunity to re-sort the commission payable statement detail before printing, by:

  • Customer Name (default)

  • Policy Number

  • Bill Method

Description

Accept the default description, or enter a new one that describes the report you are requesting.

Print Cover Page

Allows you to include a cover page listing the selected options included in the report. This option defaults as unchecked.

ClosedReport Fields

As of v2.0, when we allowed employee and broker beginning balance journal entries (BJE) to be entered at startup on AMS 360, they now appear on the Commission Statement report:

  1. The LOB/Chg and Tran fields will be blank.

  2. The Agency Gross and Agency Comm fields will be 0.00.

  3. The Rate has no percentage amount.

  4. The Net Payable will be the amount of the BJE.

Report Fields

Description

Insured Name

The name of the insured.

Policy

The policy number.

Bill

The Accounting Transaction Code.

A/R

Indicates whether or not the invoice has an open accounts receivable balance.

Inv#

The invoice number.

Eff Date

The invoice effective date.

LOB/Chg

The line of business code for premium or the charge type code for non-premium.

Tran

The Policy Transaction Code.

Rate

Employee/Broker Commission Rate. Then, the symbol to the right of the rate denotes the commission method.

  • A = % of Agency

  • P = % of Premium/Non-Premium

  • F = Flat Rate

Agency Gross

This is the gross premium or charge amount.

Agency Comm

This is the agency commission dollar amount.

This column on the commission statement can be suppressed if the Show Agency Commissioncheckbox on the selection form is unchecked.

Net Payable

This is the net commission amount payable to the employee/broker.

Payable Bal

This is the commission payable less any previously paid amounts.

Pay Amount

The current payment amount.

  • 1 = Agency Bill Invoices (ABI)

  • 2 = Direct Bill Statement Invoices (DBI)

  • 3 = Customer Service Direct Bill Invoices (CSI)

GL Post

The general ledger transaction posting date.

Binder

Prints:

Binder - for an unreplaced binder.

Replaced - for a replaced binder.

ARBal

Accounts receivable balance for the invoice.

APBal

Accounts payable balance for the invoice.

DBRecBal

Direct bill reconciliation balance.

The balance is included only for DBI invoices, not ABI or CSI invoices.

Branch Name

Business unit branch name applicable to this transaction.

DeptName

Business unit department name applicable to this transaction.

GroupName

Business unit group name applicable to this transaction.
