Web Services
Here are some common Web Services issues you may encounter when using Web Services.

Description
You try to access an account information within BenefitPoint using WebServices. However when you click the Get Account command within WebServices, no information is returned.
Resolution
This could be a account data issue that is preventing the information from being obtained.
Follow the steps bellow to determine where the issue is:
- Log on to BenefitPoint as Broker user.
- From the Global search drop-down list on the top right, select BP Internal Account ID.
- Enter the BP Internal Account ID and click Search.
- In the Account Summary section, click the Edit link.
- Confirm that all required fields (denoted with *) are completed.
- Click Save.
- If an error message appears, additional information may be required before the account can be updated. Update the details mentioned in the error message and Save again.
- On the top navigation submenu, click Service Info.
- Confirm that all required information has been completed, including the—Account Region, Account, Office, Administrator and Primary Contact.
- If changes are required, the Administrator on the account would need to update these changes.
- Once all required fields have been completed and the account has been saved, attempt to obtain the information via WebServices.

Description
When you attempt to update to a BenefitPoint account through Web Services, the following error appears:

Resolution
This error can appear when you do not have the correct security permissions.
Confirm the security settings for the user, follow the steps below:
- Log on to BenefitPoint as a Broker Admin user.
- On the top navigation bar, click on the Users tab.
- Locate the user to verify the permissions.
- From the Action drop-down list select Edit User.
- In the Roles section, expand Broker Admin role.
- Depending on what the Web Services the user is attempting to update, it may be necessary to have the following permissions selected:
- Setup Service
- User Service
- Expand the Broker role.
- Depending on what the Web Services user is attempting to update, it may be necessary to have the following permissions selected:
- Account Service
- Activity Log Service
- Contact Service
- Product Service
- Request Service
- In addition to the above mentioned permissions, the user may also require the following:
- Access Plan Updates
- Delete Activity Log Records
- Delete Plan and Product Elements
- Delete/Replace Attachments
- Edit All Accounts (based on Access Area)
- Edit Cancellation and Reinstatement Info
- Within the ‘Set Access Area’ section, the user may require access to ‘All regions & offices/location(s)’.
- Confirm if there are any permissions that could be causing a conflict with regards to what the user is attempting to update.
- Click Save.
- Before attempting to resubmit the Web Services Request, ensure that a new Session ID is generated.

Description
When you log on to BenefitPoint the following error message appears:
The login information entered is invalid. This login can only be used for Web Services access.
Resolution
The above error appears when a User profile is marked for Web Service Access Only. This limits the User access and will not allow normal access into BenefitPoint. To get regular access to BenefitPoint contact the Broker Admin that set up their profile.
The Broker Admin will have to do the following to change the access:
- Log on to BenefitPoint as a Broker Admin user.
- On the top navigation bar, click Users.
- Locate the user with log on issue.
- From the Action drop-down list and select Edit User.
- In the Role section expand the Broker role.
- Scroll down to the bottom and remove check mark from Web service Only.
- Click Save.
Now have the user log in. The user must close their current browser session and log in again to BenefitPoint.
