Image Viewer Explained
When you select a document in the file structure as explained in ImageRight Browser Client Tour, you will typically see the related image in the image viewer. In this topic, we explain the features of the viewer that you can use to make it easier to complete your work.
Page Navigation Options:
- Navigate to the frame of the multi-frame page by entering the page number to the page input field or by using the arrow icons
- If your page contains 1 frame, arrow icons will be disabled
Rotation Options:
- Rotate a full page by using the rotation icons
- The rotation will be saved during your session
Annotation Toolbar Options:
- Show and hide annotations by clicking show/hide
- Save annotations by clicking Save

Text Stamp Annotation Options:
- Apply the Text Stamp annotation to a multi-frame page
- Right-click to see the available annotations
- Right-click on the Stamp icon to apply a new stamp annotation
Text Annotation Options:

Draw text annotations on a multi frame page

Drag and drop text annotations until the page is saved

Right-click to pull up the text annotation properties
Sticky Note Annotation Options:
- Drag and drop sticky notes
- Edit background color
- Edit font size
- Change properties of the sticky note annotation by right-clicking
- Chose text color
Arrow Annotation Options:

Apply an arrow annotation to the multi-frame page

Change properties of the arrow annotation by right click on the arrow icon
Highlighter Annotation Options:

Apply highlighter annotations to the multi-frame pages

Change properties of highlighter annotations by right click on the highlighter icon
Redaction Icon Options:
-
Apply redaction properties to the multi-frame pages

Redaction is 50% transparent until saved

Redaction is saved on when you click Go Away or Save

Choose to apply a white or black redaction, black is the default color

The Redaction properties popup is opened when you right-click
Fit options:
- Select the width and height for the best fit
- Default state is Fit to Width
Zoom Toolbar Options:
- Zoom the page in or out and enter the exact size of the page
- Zoom out icon - decreases frame on 10%, disabled if minimum value is chosen (10%)
- Zoom in icon - increases frame on 10% disabled if maximum value is chosen (500%)
- Zoom settings are applied to all frames within the page
- The thumbnail view is available for the Image based viewer
- The default state is closed
- The thumbnail view can be opened and closed
- When opened the thumbnail view is auto scrolled to the frame shown in the current viewer
- The selected frame in the thumbnail view is the same as the frame in the current viewer
- The number of the page in the navigation toolbar will be the selected frame at the thumbnails view
- The Page Up and Page Down options on your keyboard are functional in this view
- When you scroll frames within the viewer the thumbnail view is auto-scrolled
Image Viewer:
When you try to display an unsupported image, you will get the following message The selected item cannot be displayed. Download the item to your computer.
Unsupported formats:
.vsd, .vdx, .rtf, .odp, .ods, .odt, .ico, .kmz, .pcx ...etc
Office viewer:
When you try to display an unsupported document you will get the following message "This item format is not supported by the document viewer. Select Edit or View to open the item in Microsoft Office."
Unsupported formats:
Word (.dot, .docm, .dotx, .dotm, .docb)
Excel (.xlt, .xlm, .xlsm, .xltx, .xltm, .xlsb)
PowerPoint (.pot, .pps, .pptm, .potx, .potm, .ppsx, .ppsm)
When you select a document(s) at the File tree, the first page of the selected document is shown in the viewer.
Functional permissions
You can be granted the ability to rotate your pages, if you do not have this permission then you will not be able to see this option. (Browser Client - Content Actions – Rotate)
You can be granted the ability to annotate your pages. if you do not have this permission then you will not be able to see this option.
Persistent state of the Image Viewer
The following settings are persisted for you until the file is closed:
- Zoom state
- Fit options
- Thumbnail view
- Frame number at the current viewer for the specific page
Deselect out of view annotation:
If the selected annotation is brought out of the current view it will then be deselected.
Desktop annotations:
Annotations that are applied in the IR Desktop are supported by New BC Image Viewer and displayed within the Viewer:
• Typed Text
• Straight Line
• Hollow Rectangle
• Hollow Ellipse
• Filled Ellipse
• Freehand line
• Filled Polygon
• Hollow Polygon
• Pinned Text Stamp
Image Viewer related error handling
A Retry pop up message is shown on the page if the loading process has failed.
