Change Task Target

Have you ever started working on a task only to determine that it is related to the wrong document, page, etc., of a file? If your answer to this question is yes, you would likely want to move the task to the correct level. You can move a task anywhere in the same file quickly using the Change Task Target command.

In our example, we will move a task from one page to another. You should be able to modify our steps easily to change the target to any other level in the same file.

  1. Ensure the task is locked.
  2. On the Task menu, click Change Task Target.

  1. Select the level in the file structure to which you would like to move the task, page 1 in our example. The current location has a green highlight.
  2. In the Set as Task dialog box, select the task description in the list that matches the task that you want to change.
  3. Click Set to complete the change.
  4. To verify that the task target changed, look for the green highlight in the new location.
