InsurLink IDP Migration - FAQ
With every release, we continue to make investments in our technology so you can have the most modern solutions driving your agency. One of our earliest investments toward modernizing our technology took place in 2021 and involved a partnership with Amazon Web Services. We are excited to continue these investments by standardizing our security infrastructure via a migration to Ping Identity.
Ping is the industry-leading identity provider that will give your users a modern and intuitive login and authentication experience. We are excited to roll out Ping to all our solutions, including with InsurLink.
An identity provider (IDP) is a service that stores and manages digital identities. Ping is Vertafore’s chosen identity provider and will help manage our authorization and authentication processes so we can access different software, separate accounts, and so on.
AGENTS: The only impact is that the password reset notification—from “Customize Notifications”—will now be standardized and no longer customizable.
INSUREDS: Insureds will be required to reset their password upon initial login.
Insureds will be prompted with a message on their login page that reads: "If logging in for the first time after May 13, you will need to click “Forgot Password?” to reset your password.

Insureds will need to follow Ping’s password requirements (see below).

Passwords are case-sensitive and must abide by the following parameters:

A minimum of eight characters long

Contain at least three of the following: Numbers, uppercase letters, lowercase letters, or special characters (such as punctuation).

May not repeat any of your previous 12 passwords.

Change your password every 360 days.
No. MFA settings will not change, since InsurLink has always used Ping for MFA.
The agency has the ability to turn MFA for insureds on or off via the InsurLink Admin Setting tab.
The migration to Ping will occur May 13, 2022, as part of the InsurLink 22R1 Release.
No preemptive action is required for this migration.
You will NOT have to re-invite your insureds.
You will NOT have to re-upload your company logo to populate the login page.
The first time an insured logs in after May 13, 2022, they will need to click the “Forgot Password?” link to reset their password. Once the process is completed, they will log in as normal.
