Working with Opportunities

An opportunity is a lead that is now almost ready to buy—in other words, it’s a deal that you’re ready to win. At this point in the sales process, you’re most likely in either the Develop or Propose stage. If you’re following the sales workflow from start to finish, you qualify a lead to turn it into an opportunity.

Create an Opportunity

There are three ways to directly add a new opportunity, from the top navigation bar, from the command bar on the dashboard and using the Quick Create option. Each option presents a different entry form for the opportunity.

  1. Click + Create and select Opportunity.

This instruction assumes the account already exists.

  1. Enter the Account name.
  2. Choose the Type of Business. SalesTrack supports - Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, Health, Benefits, Financial Services and Non P&C.
  3. Select the Opportunity Type - Monoline, Package or BOP.
  4. If already known, enter Contact, Est. Premium, Effective Date and Close Date.
  5. Enter Notes if required and click Save.

Edit an Opportunity

  1. On the top navigation bar click Sales and select Opportunities.
  2. Double-click to open the opportunity you want to edit.
  3. Make the required edits.
  4. SalesTrack completes auto-save every 20 seconds. If there is unsaved data, click the Save button on the bottom right of the page.
