Alerts View
Applies to: Home Center
The Alerts view enables you to view and update your alerts. Alerts are notifications that a condition exists requiring your attention. For example, an alert can notify you of policies that are expiring in the next ten days, or that a bank balance has dropped below a certain amount. Employees at your firm with the appropriate security access can set up alerts assigned to you for action.
Alerts that are not complete for which you have the Assigned or Backup role are shown in the grid. A nightly process is run which evaluates the alert conditions and updates the alerts in the grid.
If an alert was marked Complete, but the condition still exists, the alert reappears as active (not complete) and shows the original alert date.
If an alert was marked Complete and the condition no longer exists, then the alert no longer appears. However, some alerts continue to appear for the number of days specified in Alert Setup, even though you mark them as complete.
If an alert is Snoozed or has not been marked Complete, it continues to appear even though the condition no longer exists. This allows you to see what happens to an alert and control when it no longer appears.
A customer and/or policy can satisfy several alert conditions. Therefore, that customer and/or policy may appear in multiple alerts.
Use View Options to choose criteria to refine or filter the information appearing in the view. For general information about using View Options, see Setting View Options.

Before marking an alert as complete, perform any actions needed to clear the alert condition. For example, if the alert regards unbilled policies, bill the policies. If the conditions that generated the alert still exist, the alert reappears.
Some alerts continue to appear for the number of days specified in Alert Setup, even though you mark them as complete.
Example
If you set up an Alert for "Increased Full Term Premium Percentages >=#% on Renewal and Rewrite Transactions in the Last # Days", with 15 as the number of days, this Alert appears for 15 days even though you mark each one as complete.
Mark the check box(es) corresponding to the completed alert(s). To select all alerts, click the check box in the column header.
Click Complete.
Once you click Complete, the selected alerts are removed from the grid. No message is displayed.
You cannot postpone multiple alerts at the same time. If you select multiple alerts, the Snooze toolbar button is unavailable.
- Select the check box corresponding to the alert you want to postpone.
- Click Snooze.
- The Snooze Alert data entry form opens. Enter the number of days or due date and the reason. More...
- Save and close.
An Alert can be deleted at any time. Delete an Alert by removing it from the Alert Setup list.
On the toolbar, click Export All. All items on all pages of the list are exported to Excel.
The export process retrieves the information from the database. If items have been added or changed since you refreshed the view, some information in the export file could be different from what you see in the grid. |
