Book of Business Report

The Book of Business report gives details on the in-force book of business at a given point in time. This report includes the option to view the report based on Original or Current Primary personnel, view the annualized premium, and view the commission and revenue associated with in-force business. However, there are some rules and conditions that may be important for interpreting your results:

  • The Book of Business report will not evaluate the Policy Status field in AMS360 since this is manually controlled.
  • The Book of Business report will ignore a policy with the latest transaction labeled as:
    • New Business Quote (NBQ)
    • Policy Change Quote (PCQ)
    • Policy Inquiry (PNQ)
    • Renewal Quote (RWQ)
    • Renewal Requote (RRQ)
  • Continuous policies are reported when the Policy Effective date is before or on the In-force date, and the Transaction Effective Date is after or on the Continuous Effective date.
    • A column denotes if a policy is not renewable.

    • Additional fields now included in the report are as follows: Customer NAIC; Customer SIC; Policy Agency Business Classification; Policy Notation; Added the ability to group by, Customer NAIC; and Customer SIC

    • Additional columns now included in the report are as follows: Acquisition; Customer Business Entity; Customer ID; Customer Is In A Relationship; Policy Description; Policy Entered Date; Underwriter.

  • Unlike AMS360 Classic Reports, this report:
    • Will provide unbilled agency commission for partially billed Premium or Non-Premium, so that you can get the full revenue. With the exception of Direct Bill Entry.
    • Will report policies as in-force if they are canceled or have a non-renewal transaction after the in-force date.
    • Will not offer Exec and Rep commission information. This information is currently available through the Production Analysis Classic report.
  • The Estimated Revenue entered in the Transaction Premium section of the Policy window is included in this report. If you enter the estimated revenue and want to see it on the report, use the Hide/Show columns to show the column.
  • For policy terms less than or equal to 12 months, annualized premium is(12/(# of months between policy effective date and policy expiration date)) * premium.
    • Note: The report only calculates on a 12 month policy and it does not recognize multiple year policies. (i.e., it will not use 36 months to calculate a 3 year bond).
