Invoice a Client for Non-Policy Related Charges

You may create an agency-billed invoice for a client directly from the Client Details page. Use the Basic Client Information page to invoice a client for non-policy related charges. For example, you might want to charge a client for performing consulting work not directly related to an individual policy.

When you invoice directly from the Client Details page, the invoice does not attach to a policy, and does not appear on any production reports.

Prerequisite

The client you are going to invoice must already be entered in your database.

To invoice a client for non-policy related charges

  1. Look up and load the client. The Client Details page appears.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Mouse over the >> (More Options) tab.
  4. Select Client Invoice from the drop-down list. The Create Invoice Key dialog box appears.
  5. Complete the Create Invoice Key dialog box.
  6. Click Next. The Invoices to Clients page appears.
  7. Continue with To complete the Invoices to Clients page.

To complete the Invoices to Clients page

The Invoices to Client page is an "electronic" representation of the invoice that you are creating -- some of the information that appears on this page also appears on the invoice when you print it. Changes that you make on this page affect only this invoice.

  1. On the Invoices to Clients page, complete the required Data tab.
  2. Enter data on the Multi, Installment, Finance, and/or A/R tabs, as appropriate.
  3. Access, review, and if needed, revise data on the Invoice tab on the Invoices to Clients page.
  4. When you are satisfied that the information on this invoice is correct, click Save and select a print/view option. Refer to the Print Options bar topic for additional information. When the invoice process is complete, you return to the Create Invoice Key dialog box.
