Create a New EPI Template Using the EPI Wizard

Use the EPI wizard to create an EPI Template to which other EPI forms or AOIs can be attached.

The EPI wizard is comprised of five tabs, each of which is a step in the EPI creation process. You can easily move from one tab to another, using the Next and Previous buttons to move back and forth among the tabs.

There are no Save options or buttons on the tabs.Information on each tab is saved when you move from one tab to another.

If you click Cancel on a tab, the information you entered is lost.

The EPI Template creation process begins at the ACORD 27 Evidence of Property grid or the ACORD 28 Commercial Evidence of Property grid. For information about this, see EPI wizard.

How to create a new EPI Template

  1. Look up and load the client. The Client Details page appears.

  2. From the Client Primary Navigation, select Forms > ACORD 27 Evidence of Property or Forms > ACORD 28 Commercial Evidence of Property.  You can also create an EPI form from a policy.

The ACORD 27 Evidence of Property Selections grid or ACORD 28 Commercial Evidence of Property Selections grid appears.

  1. Click Add to launch the wizard. The Evidence of Property Insurance Policies page or Evidence of Commercial Property Insurance Policies page appears. The Policies Tab is highlighted.

  1. Continue with Complete the Policies Tab.

Use the Policies tab to select the policies that should be included on the EPI template.

You cannot select both Personal and Commercial policies. If you do, you receive the following error message and cannot continue until you correct your selections: Both Personal and Commercial policies may not be on the same Evidence of Property.

Of all the tabs in the EPI Wizard, the changes you make when you return to the Policies tab can affect entries and selections on other pages. For more information, see Making Changes to the Policies Tab.

  1. Select the policy or policies from the Policies grid on the page.

You can select multiple, contiguous policies by pressing the Shift key and clicking each policy that you want to include. You can select multiple, non-contiguous policies by pressing the CTRL key and clicking each policy that you want to include.

The first policy you select in the grid is the one that pre-fills to the fields on the template.

  1. When you have finished selecting policies to be included on the EPI Template, complete the rest of the page. For information about the options on this page, see Evidence of Property Insurance Policies -- Policy Tab.

Important! You must enter a description for the EPI template in the Template Description field near the bottom of the page. If you do not, the field changes to pink and the message This field is Mandatory!appears.

  1. When you have finished your entries on the Policies tab, click Next or click on the Group Codes tab. The ACORD Additional Interest Group Code Selections Page -- Group Codes Tab appears.

  1. Continue with Complete the Group Codes Tab.

Use the Group Codes Tab to assign a group of AOIs to the EPI.

The Group Codes selection tab displays any group codes for AOIs associated with the policies and/or client loaded.

  1. From the Group Codes grid, select the Group code, or codes, that you want to add to the EPI, and then click Next, or click on the Additional Interests tab. If you want to select all Group codes, click ALL. The Additional/Other Interests Page -- AOI Tab appears.

  1. Continue with Complete the Additional Interests Tab.

Use the Additional Interests tab to select from a list of Additional Interests associated with the policy or policies selected.

If you click ALL, the AOI selection list will include all AOIs listed on the policy, regardless of which group they are assigned to or whether or not they are assigned to any group. Click Next or click on any other tab to save your selections on this tab.

  1. From the Additional/Other Interests grid, select the AOI, or AOIs, that you want to add to the EPI. Do one of the following:

CTRL+CLICK each code; then click Next.

Click the first code in the range, then SHIFT+CLICK the last code in the range. Click Next.

Click ALL or ALT+A to select all AOIs and move to the next tab.

none of the codes

Click None or ALT+N to  move to the next tab without selecting any AOIs.

  1. If necessary, click Next or click the Supplemental Names tab to move to the Supplemental Names Selection List.

  2. Continue with Complete the Supplemental Names Selection List Tab.

The Supplemental Name Selection List shows the supplemental names associated with the policy or policies selected. It appears if the following conditions have been met:

  • Your agency has selected Yes to the appropriate Supplemental Names option on the Certificate of Insurance\Evidence of Property Personalization Page. (The Certificate of Insurance/Evidence of Property Personalization page has an option for allowing supplemental name selection for EPIs.)

  • The policy you selected includes supplemental names.

Use this tab to select the name you want to appear in the Insured section of the EPI. If you select a Supplemental name, the Supplemental name appears on the EPI and on the EPI Preview page.

  1. From the Supplemental Names grid, select the Supplemental Name, or Names, that you want to add to the EPI.

  2. Click the Preview option or the Preview tab.

    The ACORD 27/28 Evidence of Property Page -- Preview Tab appears.

  1. Make any edits necessary to the EPI, using the links on the page to navigate to the section(s) you want to change.For information about this page, clickACORD 27/28 Evidence of Property Page -- Preview Tab.

You can always return to other tabs and make changes, before you save the Template.

  1. When you have finished making changes, do one of the following:

(ALT+S)

Save the information on the EPI Template Preview page. Click this option if you want to view each EPI before printing. If you view each EPI, you can check its accuracy and make any changes needed.

The first EPI based on the EPI Template appears. The Print Options dialog box appears. You can select Acrobat, Printer, or Cancel.

If you click Acrobat again, the EPI is saved in PDF (Portable Document Format).

If you click Printer, the EPI is sent to the printer.

Print All

(ALT+A)

Print all of the EPI forms based on the templates at once, without viewing each one before printing. You return to the Acord 27 Evidence of Property or Acord 28 Evidence of Commercial Property grids.

To exit the "Print All" process, click Quit.

Quit (ALT+Q)

To quit the Template. All changes are lost.

Delete (ALT+D)

Delete the EPI Template and not create the Template, if you click Delete on the Template.

Delete the EPI, and display the next EPI in sequence, if you click Delete on an EPI record.

Cancel (ALT+C)

Exit the EPI wizard without creating EPI forms. Changes are lost.
