Activate VSSO for existing users of AMS360, PL Rating, and other products

If your agency is transitioning to VSSO, you can activate VSSO for your user's existing accounts. There are steps for the administrator to complete, and a few steps for the users to complete.

In this topic, you'll find the steps to activate your existing users, and email templates that you can use to notify your users of the transition and the steps they'll need to take next.

The following Vertafore products currently support this option:

  • AMS360 (fully licensed users)
  • PL Rating
  • ReferenceConnect
  • WorkSmart Online (WSOL)
 
  • To configure AMS360 users for VSSO that do not have full licenses and cannot login to AMS360, such as a producer that needs access to AMS360 information in another product like Vertafore Agency SalesTrack or AMS360 Mobile, please follow the instructions in Add and configure AMS360 users.
  • Do not create new accounts in VSSO for users that already have an account in one of these products. If you do, you’ll end up with duplicate accounts, and one of them will have no connection to the user’s existing information.
ClosedActivation steps for the administrator to complete
  1. Go to https://vim.identity.vertafore.com/VIM/ to open the VSSO console.
    Or from AMS360, click 360 Toolbox > Vertafore Single Sign-On.
  2. In the VSSO console, click Manage Products, select the product you want, and then click VSSO Status.
  3. Select the user accounts you want to activate (including your own account), and then click Activate VSSO.
    The VSSO Status for the users you selected will change from Not Activated to Pending.
     

    To select and activate all users in the list, select the check box at the top of the column of check boxes.

  4. Repeat these steps for the Vertafore product you use that support this option.
ClosedActivation steps for the users to complete

To complete the activation process (change the VSSO Status from Pending to Activated), the user must complete a few steps.

The next time a user in Pending status signs in to AMS360, PL Rating, or another Vertafore product with their original login information, they will see the following options:

  • If the user does not already have a VSSO account, they should click Create Account. They'll then need to enter their email address, and a password.
  • If the user has already setup a VSSO account, they should click Sign In. This connects their existing information in the product to their VSSO account.

ClosedInstructions for WorkSmart Online users

Your WorkSmart Online account has been activated for Vertafore Single Sign-On (VSSO), which allows you to sign in to VSSO-enabled Vertafore products with one email address and password.

The next time you log in to ImageRight Desktop, you’ll be asked if you want to migrate your account. Click Yes.

Next, you'll be asked to click Sign In or Create Account. If you have not yet created a VSSO account, click Create Account. If you've already created a VSSO account, click Sign In, and enter your email address and password.

If you are creating a VSSO account, follow the instructions and then click Create Account. Next, you'll be asked to enter your original ImageRight Desktop login information one more time. This allows your VSSO account to be linked to your existing WorkSmart Online account.

NOTE: You only need to click Log On one time to start the process. Please do not close or refresh your browser while your accounts are being linked.

Once the link is complete, you will see a success message, and you can close your browser. If you do not see this message, please contact us for assistance.

After you do this, the next time you open ImageRight Desktop, log in with your VSSO email address and password.

Also, the next time you open another Vertafore product, look for and click Sign In with Vertafore Single Sign-On to log in with your VSSO email address and password.

ClosedUndo VSSO activation

If you want to switch a user back to their original, product-specific login information, you can deactivate VSSO for that user.

  1. Go to https://vim.identity.vertafore.com/VIM/ to open the VSSO console.
    Or from AMS360, click 360 Toolbox > Vertafore Single Sign-On.
  2. In the VSSO console, click Manage Products, select the product you want, and then click VSSO Status.
  3. Select the user accounts you want to deactivate, and then click Deactivate VSSO.
    The VSSO Status for the users you selected will change from Activated or Pending to Not Activated.
ClosedWhat do the VSSO activation status types mean?
  • Not Activated: The user must use their original product-specific login information to sign in to this product.
  • Pending: The customer administrator has activated VSSO for this user. The user will be asked to create a VSSO account or sign in with their existing VSSO account the next time they sign in to this product.
  • Activated: The user has a VSSO account and can use it to sign in to this product.
