Maintain Password Policy
Use Maintain Password Policy page to enforce password requirements with which all users’ passwords must comply.
To use the Maintain Password Policy service, in the AgencyEDGE navigation bar, click the Administration link. The Administration page will open. Then, in the Account Management group, click the Maintain Password Policy link.
The Maintain Password Policy page contains the following sections:
Subscriber Information
- Subscriber Name: Display only. Displays your company's name.
- Subscriber ID: Display only. Displays your company's unique subscriber number.
Password Policy
Set password strength and aging requirements for
- Minimum password length: Enter a numeric value between 6 and 50 representing the minimum allowable length of a user password.
- Number of days a password is valid: Enter the number of calendar days between 1 and 999 that users will be allowed to keep a password before being required to change it. Enter a zero (0) if you do not wish for passwords to expire.
- Number of old passwords that will be compared to ensure new password has not already been used: Enter a numeric value between 0 and 24 to indicate the number of previous, consecutive passwords to be compared to the new password to restrict the use of repeated passwords. Note that the system never will allow a new password identical to the last previous password.
- Minimum length of time, in minutes, before password can be reset again: Enter a numeric value between 0 and 99999 to indicate the number of minutes after a user changes his or her password before the user will be allowed to change the password again. Note that 1440 minutes is 1 day; 2880 minutes is 2 days, etc.
- Require at least one number?: Click the Yes radio button to require all passwords to contain at least one numeric character. Or, click the No radio button to not impose this requirement on passwords.
- Require a lower case letter?: Click the Yes radio button to require all passwords to contain at least one lower-case alphabetic character. Or, click the No radio button to not impose this requirement on passwords.
- Require an upper case letter?: Click the Yes radio button to require all passwords to contain at least one upper-case alphabetic character. Or, click the No radio button to not impose this requirement on passwords.
- Require a special character?: Click the Yes radio button to require all passwords to contain at least one of the following special characters: ~ ' ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ - + = { [ } ] | \ : ; ? < , > . / Or, click the No radio button to not impose this requirement on passwords.
Page Controls
- Process: Click to commit the selected password parameters to the system. All new user passwords will be required to comply with the enforcements you have set. In addition, all users will be required to change their passwords upon the next login.
To exit the Maintain Password Policy page, click the Administration link in the navigation bar or the breadcrumbs.

The default setting of the Minimum length of time, in minutes, before password can be reset again field is either 0 or 2880 (2 days). You may change it to any value that suits your company's password security requirements. |
