Business Auto Line of Business
The purpose of the Business Auto Line of Business form is to gather auto information specific to the policy to which you are attaching this line of business.
- In the policy window, click New on the Line of Business section bar, and then select Business Auto from the Line of Business list.
- Click Add on the section bar. The new Line of Business appears in the Line of Business list.
- Click the link for this specific line business (see example).
Do one of the following:
- Open the policy you want to edit the line of business in. Click Edit on the Line of Business section bar, and then click Business Auto from the Line of Business list.
- In the Customer Center, search for and select the customer. With a customer record open, from the sidebar menu select Views > Policies. Click Business Auto at the bottom of the Policy Summary view.
The Line of Business list is filtered by the Type of Business selected in the Basic Policy Information section, only if the Filter data entry and lines of business by Type of Business check box is checked. |
Business Auto uses the Type-in Grid feature of data entry. See the Grids in AMS360 topic for more information on how to use this feature.
The Business Auto Policy uses numeric symbols to indicate the types of vehicles for which coverage is in effect. For a list of the symbols and their definitions, click the glossary word symbols.
By selecting coverages in this section you can use the Get Coverages button in the Coverages section to automatically pull the coverages for the symbols you selected.
To assign covered auto symbols:
- Expand the Covered Auto Symbols section, and then select or type the symbols that apply to the following categories:
- Liability (type the symbols if you select the Liability - Other Symbol check box)
- Personal Injury Protection
- Additional PIP
- Property Protection
- Medical Payments
- Uninsured Motorist
- Underinsured Motorist
- Towing & Labor
- Comprehensive
- Specified Causes of Loss
- Collision
- In the Additional Coverage/Symbols group box, select the coverage from the list, and then type the symbols that apply.
- In the Endorsement, Forms, Conditions field, type any endorsements, forms, or conditions included on this policy.
Driver Information
Get All Policy Locations | Click this button to automatically enter all policy location data, as entered in the 125, 130 Applicant Information / Locations > Commercial Locations section of the Policy data entry form. When you click the button, data flows to the grid. You can then highlight an individual grid row and click the Delete or Edit commands to modify information as needed. |
Default Policy Location | Select the location if it is the same as a location entered on the policy. |
(Garage) Location # | This pre-fills from the selected location. If you do not select a location, enter a number.

Address 1 Address 2 | This populates from the selected location. If you don't select a location, type the address information. |
Vehicle Information
Click Set all "No" to answer all questions "No." You can then change individual answers as necessary. Explain "Yes" answers in the Remarks section.
Type additional information about the policy, risk, or subject of insurance that is not entered elsewhere.
Form # | Policy form number or company form designation for the type of policy/coverage desired. |
Edition Date | Enter the Edition Date that applies to this form (MM/YYYY) |
Form Name | Enter the name of the form. |
Description | Enter the form description. |
Eff/Exp Date | Enter the effective and expiration dates for the form. |
Some fields may not be available depending on the type of line of business.
