This feature, or some fields and options described, might not be available depending on your settings, security rights, or platform package.

Start by opening the Policy whose Effective Date you want to change. In the Basic Policy section in the Policy data entry form, click the Change link that appears after the Effective Date field. This opens the Change Policy Effective Dateform.

 

Field/ Column	What is this?
Dates	Group/Field What is this? Effective Column What is this? Current Policy View only. The current effective date of the policy. Change To Enter the new effective date. Expiration Column What is this? Current Policy View only. The current expiration date of the policy. Change To Enter the new expiration date. Continuous Column What is this? Current Policy View only. The current setting for this field on the policy. Change To Check this box if the policy is continuous and does not have an expiration date. When checked, the Expiration Date blanks out and becomes inactive. Continuous policies appear annually on the Expiration/Renewal Report.
Change Date	Click to change the Effective Date and return to the Policy data entry form.
Cancel	Cancels the process and returns to the Policy data entry form.

 

When you change a policy effective date, Vertafore recommends taking the following actions:

• If the policy has been billed, review the agency commission and payment plan distribution. See Viewing an Invoice.

• If changes are required to the agency commission, payment plan distribution, or if the invoice must reflect a new invoice effective date, you must VOID the invoice and re-enter it. See Voiding an Invoice.
