Notification Service Setup

AMS360 integrates with a number of third-party software products. Integration often includes the need to know when information changed in AMS360 should be passed to the integrated software. The Notification Service provides this ability. The setup up data entry form allows you to configure this information exchange.

    ClosedAccessing Notification Service Setup

From any center or form that has a Toolbox menu, click Toolbox > System Administration>Notification Service Setup.

You must have proper authorization to access Notification Service Setup.

What is this?

Notification Client

You can enter the software, destination name, or any identifier you want to use for the Client name.

    ClosedContacts

You are not required to enter Contact information in this section. However, doing so makes it easier to locate the primary and backup contact if a notification cannot be delivered. Contacts you enter in this section become available in the lists in the following section.

Name

Enter the name of the point person for software receiving the messages. This name appears in the Undelivered Notification Messages utility, if the message cannot be delivered.

Title

You can enter this information if desired. It is not required.

Business

The Business number appears in the Undelivered Notification Messages utility form.

Cell

Email

The address you enter here appears in the Undelivered Notification Messages utility form.

Address

You can enter this information if desired. It is not required.

City

    ClosedRecipient Information

The information in this section is critical. Here you set the destination and delivery status.

Recipient Name

This is a required field. Enter the software or program to receive the notification message.

Destination Address

This information is critical. Enter the location where the data will be sent. You can enter a directory location, an FTP site, wherever you will access the data for your needs.

Authentication Code

If the destination location requires authentication, enter the code here.

Notification Version

Indicates the version of the Notification Service to use. The version corresponds to the one used by your third-party vendor. For example, a third-party program was written to accept the format of data transfer available in version 1 of Notification Services. It will only work with version 1, unless the program is modified to accept version 2. The version selected determines the Notification Types available to send in the Notification Service.

Primary Contact

Select the Primary Contact. Names you entered in the Contacts section are available in the list.

Backup Contact

Select the Backup Contact. if wanted. Names you entered in the Contacts section are available in the list.

Delivery Status

Control the status of delivery of the notifications. The options are as follows:

Status

What is this?

On

When you save the form, Notification messages begin queuing data for delivery.

Off

Upon saving the form, Notification messages stop queuing.

Changing the status from Suspend to Off, or On to Off deletes all messages set for delivery.

Suspend

After saving the form, Notification messages continue collecting, but are not delivered. Suspended Message delivery shows the date and time the service was suspended.

Notification Type

Data changes made in an entity trigger notification. Check with your System Administrator for details on data entities in your Web Service SDK. The Notification Version you selected in the Recipient Section determine the types appearing in the grid. Version 2 has more types than version 1.

Grant Notification

Check the box to include the type of information in the notification message.
