Launch Program Setup
The Launch Program Setup allows add-on products, either third party external products or Vertafore custom products, to be set up and accessed from within AMS360. Launch Programs enhances what is already offered by Internet Explorer Favorites and the AMS360 User Control Center Favorite Links by providing the ability to attach agency and/or user level security to program access. It also provides a means for you to access AMS360 custom applications.
Programs can be setup for all or a subset of users to access, or for individual users to access. Once programs are setup, the Launch Programs menu is available from the Toolbox.
Accessing Launch Program Setup
From any center or form that has a Toolbox menu, click Toolbox > System Administration > Launch Program Setup.
You must have proper authorization to access Launch Program Setup.

Available when editing items. The information displayed is for viewing only.

These selections are only available when you are adding new programs.

User
|
Choose this option if the program you are setting up is for use by a Security Group or an individual AMS360 user.
This menu item appears wherever the user logs in. It is not workstation specific.

Employee
|
Available only when you select User.
From the list, select the Security Group or active employee who can access this program from the Toolbox > Launch Programs menu.
|
|
Agency
|
Choose this option if the program you are setting up is for use by everyone in the agency.
You can set up a maximum of 20 agency programs for the Launch Menu.

When editing a previously set up program, you cannot change a program from an agency-wide program to a user program. You must re-enter the information as a new item and choose user.

Command Path
|
Type the directory and path of the program or file you want to launch from the Launch Programsmenu. Drives and paths can include replaceable variables.

Browse
|
Click this link to open the Windows Open dialog box. Use this dialog box to locate the program or file you want to appear in the Command Path field.

Parameters
|
Enter optional program arguments or parameters.
|

Start Directory
|
Type the directory where the program or file should start. Drives and paths can include replaceable variables.

Browse
|
Click this link to open the Windows Browse for File dialog box. Use this dialog to locate the directory where the program or file should start.

|
Menu Text
|
Enter the name of the program or file as you want it to appear on the Launch Programs menu.
|
|
Sort #
|
Enter a number (sort order) where you want this item to appear on the Launch Programs menu.
AMS360Custom Applications appear first in the Launch Programs menu, next are the programs set up for all of the agency, and last are the individual user programs. Each of these types of programs individually uses the sort order entered here.

Enter additional information about the program. Use this area to explain when and why the item was set up to use as future reference.
