Passwords are a critical part of a good security system. To effectively manage system security, AMS360 expires passwords every 60 days, requiring each user to enter a new password to continue system access. The structure of the password is also important. The rules for creating a user password in AMS360 are described below.
New passwords cannot be the current password, or any of the previous 24 passwords you've used.
Entry of a new password follows the same rules as required in initial Employee Setup:
Passwords are case-sensitive.
Does not contain the Login ID
A minimum of 7 and a maximum of 30 characters in length
Include characters in at least 3 of the following 4 groups:
Uppercase character
Lowercase character
Numeric character
Symbol (Symbols include any special character such as !, @, or # available on your keyboard.)
The Change Password form is triggered when the password expires at the 60-day mark. When the form is initiated:
Type in your expiring password.
Type in your chosen new password making sure it conforms to the password rules.
Re-type the new password as verification.
Click OK.
You can also create a new password at any time you choose. To access the Change Password form:
From any center or form that has a Toolbox menu, select Toolbox > System Administration > Utilities > Change Password.
Use the steps in the Change on Password Expiration section in this topic to change your password.
