Working in Forms

The AMS360 system contains two major types of screen formats, Centers and Data Entry Forms.

Centers

Centers are the functional divisions in AMS 360 that breakdown insurance agency operations into manageable units for smooth system navigation. Information contained within a center form is most often displayed in a list or table format, and is generally used for read-only views.

Data Entry Forms

Data entry forms are more numerous than centers, and are the data collection tools used in AMS360. For instance, some information displayed in the Vendor Center is gathered by the Vendor data entry form. This form includes fields of information, such as vendor name and address.

Within a data entry form, information is often displayed in a grid, which is similar to the tables in centers, but allowing more functionally, including adding rows, editing data and deleting rows. It is also possible to sort and filter on data in grid columns.

Centers and Data Entry Forms Working Together

In complex areas of the system, such as the Customer/Policy/Line of Business work flow, several forms are opened and completed in a logical progression of data entry:

  1. TheCustomer form is opened to gather basic customer information, then...

  2. ThePolicy form is opened and completed to define basic policy information, then...

  3. The Line of Business section within the Policy form is completed to identify the type of risk being insured...

  4. ...and so on until the policy data entry process is complete.

Once entered, the information in the data entry forms is available for sharing across many parts of the system, such as accounting, claims, and sales management.
