Report: Direct Bill Statement

The Direct Bill Statement Report assists you with reviewing and managing your direct bill business by providing a listing of direct bill entries recorded on AMS 360.

    ClosedPrerequisite

Before you can print a Direct Bill Statement, you must generate it first. For more information on creating direct bill statements, see the topic Direct Bill Statement modifiers.

 

    ClosedAccessing the Direct Bill Statement Report

This report is accessible from any center or form with a Toolbox menu. Selecting Toolbox > Reports takes you to the Reports - All list, where you can make your selection.

Click Direct Bill Statement. This opens the Report - Direct Bill Statement selection form. Make your selections, pull down the File menu and select to:

What is this?

Company Type

Select All (default) to include direct bill commission statements for the company types listed below:

  • Brokerage

  • Insurance

When All is selected, the Company field is disabled. When a specificCompany Typeis selected, only those companies matching that particular company type are included in theCompanylist.

Company

This field is enabled when the Company Type is:

  • Brokerage

  • Insurance

Select one specific company or All companies for the selected company type.

When Allis selected theStatementfield is disabled. When a specificCompanyis selected, only the statements matching that particular company are included in theStatementlist.

Division

Choose One or All (default) divisions.

The divisions appearing in the list are subject to division security. If the user has access to any of the departments in the division, then they have access to all of the direct bill statements in that division.

If All divisions are selected for printing, the report only includes direct bill statements belonging to divisions for which the user has security rights.

Statement

Statement Selection

  1. The Statement combo is disabled when the Company = All.

  2. If a specific company is chosen, then the Refresh button is enabled.

  3. Select Refresh to fill the Statement combo with only those statements belonging to the selected company and divisions. Each statement row reports:

  • Company Name

  • Division Name

  • Statement Date

  • Statement Description

  • Status: (In Progress, Ready to Post, Posted)

  1. You can select a specific statement or All statements.

  2. If you select a specific statement, the Statement Date Rangegroup and theStatusfield are disabled.

Statement Date Range

If you select a specific statement, the Statement Date Rangegroup is disabled.

Options

What is this?

From List

Use this option to select a pre-defined date range from the list. The default option is Current Date.

Select Dates

Use this option to type in a specific date range not covered by the choices in the From Listoption.

Status

You can select All statements or just those with a specific status:

  • In Progress

  • Ready to Post

  • Posted

If you select a specific statement, theStatus field is disabled.

Primary Sort

This field gives you the opportunity to re-sort the direct bill statement transactions before printing. You can sort by:

  • Customer

  • Effective Date

  • LOB/Chg - Line of Business for premium, Charge Code for Non-premium.

  • Policy Number

  • Writing Company

Your first opportunity to sort was in the build process.

Secondary Sort

Once a primary sort is selected you can also select a Secondary Sort. You can sort by:

  • Customer

  • Effective Date

  • LOB/Chg - Line of Business for premium, Charge Code for Non-premium.

  • Policy Number

  • Writing Company

Sorting the Direct Bill Commission Statement in the same format as the company statement makes it easier to spot errors or omissions.

Include Direct Bill Statement Adjustments

When you check this box, adjustments to the transactions on the statement appear after the Direct Bill Statement details.

There is no page break between the statement details and the adjustments.

Description

Accept the default description, or enter a new one that describes the report you are requesting.

Print Cover Page

Allows you to include a cover page listing the selected options included in the report. This option defaults as unchecked.

Company Statement Premium

These are the Premium, Fees & Taxes and Commission totals from your company-issued commission statement. These totals reflect all items on the statement as a whole.

The goal on a statement is that the Company Statement Totalsand theAgency Statement Totals agree before the statement is posted.

Cumulative total for all Direct Bill Statement Billed premiums, taxes and fees, and agency commission received on transactions in this statement.

This is the Policy Transaction Code for the transaction.

Class

The classification for the commissioned person on the transaction (Broker, Exec, Rep).

ShortN

The short name for the commissioned person on the transaction.

The commission percent on the transaction for the commissioned person.

M'd

The commission method used for the commissioned person on the transaction.

PersnComm

The dollar amount of commission earned by the commissioned person on the transaction.

Agcy%

The agency commission rate for the transaction.

AM'd

The agency commission method for the transaction.

AgcyComm

The agency commission amount received on the transaction.

Prem/Fee/Tax

The premium/fees/taxes received on the transaction.

Rec

Is the policy transaction fully reconciled (Yes/No). The letter 'M' also appears in this column if direct bill statement matching was successful on the item.

Customer Center Billed Transactions

The Customer Center Billed Transactions, if any, appear after the Direct Bill Statement Billed Transactions on the Direct Bill Commission Statement report.

Closed Totals

These totals pull from the Statement Totals Detailed section of the Direct Bill Commission Statement form.

The through date that was specified on the Direct Bill Statement Modifiers form when the direct bill commission statement was created. Transactions that were smaller than or equal to this date pulled to the statement.

The through date looks at the policy transaction effective date of the transaction.
