Outlook Errors
Here are some common errors you may encounter when using Outlook.

Description
When you log on to BenefitPoint using the Outlook plug-in the following error message appears:
414 error
Resolution
The above error may be caused by your password containing a special character such as ~ ! @ # $ % ^ * ( ) _ - + = \ } ] { [ ' : ; ? / . Special characters do not affect logging into the BenefitPoint application, however, they cannot be used when integrating with the Outlook Plug-in.
To resolve the error, your BenefitPoint password must be changed to one that does not contain any special characters.
To change the BenefitPoint password, use one of the following options:
- Log on to BenefitPoint as a Broker user.
- On the top left of the page click the My Profile link.
- Enter the Current password, then a New password and Re-type password.
- Click Save.
Or have a BenefitPoint Broker Administrator manually reset the password.

Description
When you click Save to BenefitPoint from Outlook the following error appears:
Error 500
Resolution
The above error may be caused by specific symbols in the subject line. Review Subject Line to remove symbols such as a colon(:), semi-colon(;), apostrophe('), etc. and then click Save to BenefitPoint.

Description
The Save to BenefitPoint button in Outlook 2007 fails to show in the menu bar or fails to function when clicked.
Resolution
- Close Microsoft Outlook 2007.
- From the Windows Control Panel open Add/Remove Programs.
- Uninstall all instances of the Outlook BenefitPoint Plugin v2 or Aptus Plugin v1.1.
- Have your IT department to run a Microsoft approved registry cleaner.
- Reinstall the BenefitPoint Outlook 2007 plug-in from here.
- Open Outlook to test.
