Overview: Sagitta and InsurLink Integration
InsurLink is a powerful tool that enables you to service your client’s needs anytime, day or night, via a web page linked to your website with your branding. The web page is easy to navigate and offers your customer the ability to address their insurance needs at a time that is convenient for them. InsurLink gives you the power to choose which clients have access to this service and what they can see and do.
Your Insured can verify coverages, submit and manage new claims, request policy changes, print Auto ID cards, manage Certificates of Insurance and even upload or download documents through a secure electronic portal. InsurLink is integrated with Sagitta, and can be accessed via computer, tablet, or smart phone.

Prerequisites
To use InsurLink, you must have these versions of Sagitta installed:
- Sagitta Application 19.2.2.0 or later
- Sagitta Web Services 19.2.2.0 or later
- SagittaLauncher 1.1.0 or later
When loading the prerequisite software, consider the current load on your Web Services server. You might want to install Sagitta Web Services to a separate server and use it for InsurLink, as outlined in the Sagitta 19R2 Release Notes, in the section titled Web Service Connection Information Section.
You might want to use a separate server if your agency:
- Has adopted many web-services-based features that integrate with your Web Services server, such as Benefit Point, ImageRight, Vertafore eForms, eDocs and Messages, User Password Reset, or internal tooling based on the Sagitta SDK;
- Has noticed slowness using any of the features listed above, with your Web Services server under its current load;
- Wishes to segment InsurLink load, and potentially load generated from other features using SagittaAPI, from load generated from your day-to-day work done using the features above;
- Does not utilize a load balancer to manage traffic to your Web Services server;
- Plans to give many Clients InsurLink Access.
What Sagitta Data will Display in InsurLink?
When your customers view their data through InsurLink, Sagitta will send data that meets specific requirements to be considered active or applicable to them. InsurLink will refine these results based on settings described in later sections in this document.
Insureds and Contacts
Clients in Sagitta must have an email address to be invited to use InsurLink. Similarly, the client’s contacts must also have a primary email address specified to be invited to use InsurLink.
Policies and Policy Summaries
Sagitta will pass details about the insured’s active policies to be displayed in InsurLink if the following statements are true:
- The policy is effective as of today and has not expired, been cancelled or nonrenewed prior to the current date
- The policy does not have an expiration date (i.e., continuous policies);
- The Policy Number does NOT begin with “APP”
- The policy was Cancelled with the Cancellation Effective Date AFTER the current date
- The policy was Remarketed with an “I” (Interim) status and has not expired
- The policy was Nonrenewed with an effective date after the current date
- The policy has an effective date after the current date (i.e., future-dated policies
- The policy is the prior term of an “active” policy (i.e., prior term renewed policies)
Policy summaries in InsurLink are currently available for several Lines of Business; refer to the Help article Sagitta Support: LOBs and Auto IDs to see the list of Lines of Business currently supported.
For any unsupported Lines of Business, you can upload a Policy Summary printed in Sagitta to the Documents section. Refer to the How to Link a Policy Declaration to a Policy in InsurLink section for more details. |
Auto ID Cards
Auto ID cards can be generated through InsurLink for a vehicle on a policy in the Policies tab.
The Auto ID cards will not be a reprint of existing cards in Sagitta. Instead, InsurLink will issue a new card based upon the Registered State of the vehicle, regardless of the Auto ID card chosen in Sagitta.
For the list of state-specific cards currently supported by InsurLink, refer to the Help article Sagitta Support: LOBs and Auto IDs.
Some companies are sending policy updates via Sagitta’s Company Download for policies with vehicles without sending Registered State for those vehicles. In InsurLink, an error displays and the card will not generate for these vehicles. We are working with the companies that we have identified to date as omitting this data, to start sending it. Refer to the Sagitta 2019 R2.3.0 Release Notes for more information and for details on a new Report Builder statement that can be used to identify vehicles with this issue. |
Certificates
Insureds can use InsurLink to view, reprint, and attach Holders to existing Certificates where all policies are still active. Insureds will only have access to Certificates that are ACORD 24 Certificates of Property, version 03/2016, or ACORD 25 Certificates of Liability, versions 01/2014 and 03/2016. The Certificates must also have data entered in the “InsurLink Description” field on the Master Certificate.
Holders Added to Certificates by Insureds
When an Insured creates a new Holder on an existing certificate, the new Holder will be visible in Sagitta, as a sub-certificate on the associated master certificate.
The agent will have to give their End-Insureds permission to add holders to certificates. If a customer has permission, they can click into the certificate and select “Add Holder.” They will be required to fill out certain fields shown below:
Once they click Add Holder, the holder will immediately be added to the list of holders for that certificate in InsurLink and in Sagitta, and they can download the completed certificate with that holder’s information from the screen.
They also have the option to add a holder directly through the Quick Links section on the home page.
Once a holder is added, if there are notifications configured for this action, an activity will appear in Sagitta along with the holder being visible as a sub-certificate on the master certificate.
If the Insured reported any Additional Information or Remarks when creating the Holder, it will be visible at the end of the Description of Operations in the resulting Certificate, as well as the sub-certificate in Sagitta.
If the Insured reported a Job Type, Job Number, or Project End Date, this will also be visible in the Description of Operations in the resulting Certificate and the sub-certificate in Sagitta.
If the Insured enters data in the Comments to Your Agent field, this will be included in the notification generated to their agent, or whoever is personalized as the recipient of their notifications in InsurLink.
If the Insured enters a Holder that has identical information already in Sagitta, a new, duplicate sub-certificate will be generated in Sagitta.
Claims
InsurLink will display the Insured’s open claims, and any closed claims on policies that are visible in the Policies Claims tab – i.e., policies that are considered active.
When an Insured creates a new Claim, a notification will be sent to their agent, including the details they provided in InsurLink.
The Insured will see a new Claim with the Sent to Agent status. If using Sagitta activities for Notifications, a Diary will be created for that policy, and sent to the servicer or producer of the policy depending on InsurLink settings.
After creating a new Claim in Sagitta, the new claim will be visible to the Insured in InsurLink with an Open status, if it hasn’t been closed yet. If using Sagitta activities, close the Diary after the Claim has been created in Sagitta to remove the Sent to Agent claim in InsurLink.
View as User for CSRs
When CSR users access InsurLink, the View As User option will only show data that is visible to them in Sagitta based on the Client-Level Security or Policy-Level Security settings. However, Insureds will have full access to their own information.
