Manage Users
If your user account includes administrative permissions, use the Manage Users page to view and update existing user accounts, reset a user's password, and add a new user to the system.
To open the Manage Users page, in the AgencyEDGE navigation bar, click the Administration link. The Administration page will open. Then, in the Account Management group, click the Manage Users link.
The Manage Users page contains the following sections:
User List
Displays a table listing all user accounts in the system. The view of user accounts may be user-modified with User List Filter Controls. (For more information, see the Page Controls section).
- User Type and Status: For each listed user account, displays a graphical icon representing the current type and status of the account, as follows:
- Active User (): User account is active and includes one or multiple non-administrative permissions.
- Active User Admin (): User account is active and includes administrative permissions and possibly one or multiple other permissions.
- Inactive User (): User account is inactive and includes one or multiple non-administrative permissions.
- Inactive User Admin (): User account is inactive and includes administrative permissions and possibly one or multiple other permissions.
- Pending (): User account is pending activation and includes one or multiple non-administrative permissions.
- Pending User Admin (): User account is pending activation and includes administrative permissions and possibly one or multiple other permissions.
- Locked User Account (): User account is locked by the system, because lapsed time between successful logins has exceeded the maximum allowed number of days or unsuccessful login attempts has exceeded the maximum allowed.
- Name: For each listed user account, displays the values of the Last Name and First Name fields, as entered on the Edit User page.
- Status: For each listed user account, displays its status: Active, Pending, Inactive, or Locked (Inactivity).
- Email Address: For each listed user account, displays the value of the Email field, as entered on the Edit User page. Click the value to open a new email message to the selected user using your system's default email client application.
- Permission Level: For each listed user account, displays its account type: Non-Admin (user has not been granted the Administrator permission) or Admin (user has been granted the Administrator permission).
- Actions: For each listed user account, may offer the following controls:
- Delete: Available for user accounts pending activation only. To revoke activation of a selected pending user and delete the user account from the User List, click to open the Delete User? confirmation box, and then click the Delete User button. The selected user will be disallowed to complete the account activation process. Or, click the Cancel button to abort the operation.
- Send Password Reset: Available for active user accounts only. To send an email to a selected active user with a link to reset his or her password, click to open the Send Reset Password Email? confirmation box. Click the Yes button to send the password reset email. Or, click the No button to abort the operation.
- Resend Email: Available for user accounts pending activation only. To send a follow-up or reminder email to a selected pending user, click to open the Resend Activation Email? confirmation box. If desired, enter a customized message in the Please enter a message for the user box to be included in the email along with the non-modifiable template text, up to 500 characters. When you are finished, click the Send button to send the account activation email to the selected pending user. Or, click the Cancel button to abort the operation.
- Unlock: Available for locked user accounts only. Click to open the Unlock Account? confirmation box. Click the Yes button to unlock the user account and send the user a password reset email; when the user successfully resets his or her password, the user account is unlocked and restored to active status. Or, click the No button to abort the operation.
- View/Edit (): For each listed user account, click to open the Edit User page, where you can update the selected user's account information and system permissions.
Page Controls
- Filters: Offers controls allowing you to narrow the default display in the User List section of all of your agency's user accounts. Fields and controls include the following:
- (clear filters): Click to remove all currently selected filter controls. The default view of all users will display.
- Status: From the dropdown menu, click to checkmark the checkbox corresponding to the status of users whose account information you want to display in the User List section. Click the All link to display users with all statuses. Click the Clear All link to remove all currently selected status filter criteria.
- Permission: From the dropdown menu, click to checkmark the checkbox corresponding to the account type (Non-Admin or Admin) of users whose account information you want to display in the User List section. Click the All link to display users with all account types. Click the Clear All link to remove all currently selected account type filter criteria.
- Add New User: Click to open the Add New User page.
The system allows a user 24 hours to reset his or her password using a system-generated password reset email. After 24 hours, the Reset Password link inside the email is invalid, and you must click either the Send Password Reset or Unlock control to send another password reset email to the user. |
