Bank Center

Use the Bank Center to set up new bank accounts and process bank-related activities (bank deposits, bank statement reconciliations, interbank transfers and miscellaneous receipts and checks).

ClosedAccessing the Bank Center

To access the Bank Center, do one of the following:

From anywhere in AMS360 you can right-click over a center button and that center opens in a new window.

 

    ClosedEntering a New Bank Account

Before you can begin bank-related activities, you must set up the agency bank accounts.

  1. From the Bank Center, click New Bank. This takes you to the Bank setup form.

  2. Enter all pertinent information for the bank, paying close attention to the required fields.

  3. Once the bank information is entered, select Save and Close. This takes you back to the Bank Center where you can continue adding bank accounts, edit a bank account, or move on to another task.

AMS360 returns a maximum of 100 banks to the Bank Center results. By default the system displays 20 records per page, however you can change this in Agency Setup or in the User Options. The Agency Setup options are for the entire agency but you can override this by individual user, in the User Options form.

How to Narrow the Search Results

To narrow the search for a bank in a long (more than one page) list:

  1. From the Bank Center, click the Name field and type a few characters of the bank name. You can also use the asterisk (*) as a wild card. Enter the initial characters of the bank name, followed by the (*) and click Search to return a list of all banks beginning with those alpha characters.

  2. Select Operating or Trust to narrow the search to one bank type.

  3. The default status is Active. You can also select to search for status Inactive or All.

  4. Click Search or [Enter].

Use Quick Pick to select an item from the Search Results list.

Prefix

This is the default. To narrow the search, enter as many characters of the bank name as you know.

A Prefix search allows you to use the plus sign (+) as a wild card character, to search for proper names.

To narrow the search within common last names, enter a last name, the (+) sign, and the first character of the first name.

Keyword

Narrow your search based on specific keyword(s) within the bank name. This search is an exact word match.

Begin

Use this search option to begin the bank list with a specific letter of the alphabet.

Color Setup

Click Foreground to change the text colors of inactive banks. Click Background to change the shading behind the text of inactive banks.

Then, select the desired color from the Color Selector, and click Apply.

Apply and Apply Default

Click Apply or Apply Default.

Save as User Default Options

Check this box and click Apply, to store new Match On and/or Color Setup settings as your user default.

 

    ClosedSelecting a Bank

New Banks

The first time you access the Bank Center, the list is empty. Click New Bank. This takes you to the Bank form where you can begin adding banks to the center.

Existing Bank

To access information on an existing bank:

  1. Locate the bank in the Search Results list.

  2. Click the bank's name. The bank information displays.

You can also use Quick Pick to open a selection.
