Split Premiums

Use the Split Premium link in the Policy form to open the Multiple Entities form where you can divide the policy premium and non-premium amounts among the Master/sub-customer entities.

ClosedAccessing Split Premiums

  1. Open the appropriate master/sub-customer and policy you want to split the premium on.

  2. Open the Transaction Premiums / Billing section of the policy.

  3. Then, click the Split Premium link in the Multiple Entity column in the Transaction Premiums and/or the Transaction Fees, Taxes, Finance & Down Payments subsections.

  4. This opens the Multiple Entities form where you can split the premiums and/or non-premiums between the master and sub-customers.

ClosedGet Sub-customers

Before splitting the premium you must retrieve the list of available sub-customers and select those among whom amounts are to be allocated. To do this:

  1. From the Multiple Entities form, click Get Sub-customers. The Get Sub-customers data entry form appears. The form displays all of the sub-customers associated with the master customer who have not already been added and assigned a portion of the premium.

  2. A check in the Select (first) column indicates that the sub-customer has already been added to the policy in the Basic Policy Information > Multiple Entity section of the policy. If a sub-customer has not yet been added at the policy level, and you want an additional sub-customer added to this transaction, check the Select box.

  3. When you have finished selecting sub-customers who will be billed a portion of the premium, click OK. The Multiple Entities data entry form reappears. See the Splitting Premium/Non-Premium in the Multiple Entities Form section, later in this topic for additional information.

If you add a sub-customer in error, you can delete them from the grid in two ways:

  1. From the grid select the line for the sub-customer you want to delete, right-click and then choose Delete from the displayed menu.

  2. Enter 0 (zero) in the premium field for the sub-customer. When you save your changes you receive a message that states there are sub-customers without premium and asks if you want to remove them from the list. Click Yes.

ClosedSplitting Premium/Non-Premium in the Multiple Entities Form

On closing the Get Sub-customers form the Multiple Entities grid is displayed. Using type-in-grid functionality, type in the desired amounts to be billed to each sub-customer in the Premium field. When you have finished assigning premium or non-premium amounts, click Save, and then click Close. You are returned to the Policy data entry form.

When you have finished entering and splitting premium and other charges you are ready to create the invoices. See Workflow: Bill a Multiple Entity Policy and Track Receivables for more information on that process.
