Glass and Sign Line of Business

The purpose of the Glass & Sign line of business form is to gather information specific to the policy you are attaching this line of business to. To access the Glass & Sign line of business data entry form, first add the Glass & Sign line of business to the Line of Business section of the Policy form. Then, click the link for this specific line business. Click here for an example.

The Line of Business list is filtered by the Type of Business selected in the Basic Policy Information section, only if the Filter data entry and lines of business by Type of Business checkbox is also checked.

Glass Schedule

Field

What is this?

Location #

Select a location from the list.

Locations are entered in the 125, 130 Application Information/Locations > Commercial Locations section in the Policy data entry form.

Building #

Select a building from the list.

Buildings are entered by location in the 125, 130 Application Information/Locations > Commercial Locations > Buildings section of the Policy data entry form.

Item #

List each piece of glass to be scheduled by assigning it an item number. Plates with the same dimensions and description can be grouped under the same number.

This number increments each time you select New.

Limit

Replacement cost of the pane(s), plus lettering, tape, and any other component that increases the value.

Plate Information

Field	What is this?
Number of	Number ofplates of glass to be insured with the same dimension and description.
Length	The vertical measurement of the glass plate in feet and inches. Length is also known as height.
Width	The horizontal measurement of the glass plate in feet and inches.
Area	For odd-size plates you may need to compute the area. Example: The size needed to replace a round piece of glass is a rectangle large enough to allow the circle to be cut from it.

Description

Identify stained glass items and specify lettering, ornamentation, or class. Describe the type of frame holding each piece of glass and whether or not it is safety glass.

Use & Position in Building

Indicate what floor the glass is on and whether it is interior or exterior glass. This is especially important for freezer cases and display windows.

Example: Ground floor show windows, or ground floor door.

Exposure	Enter the amount at risk.
Rate	Enter the rate to calculate the coverage.
Miscellaneous Information	Enter any additional information that applies to this coverage.

Sign Schedule

Field	What is this?

Item #	List each sign to be scheduled by assigning it an item number. This number increments each time you select New.
Limit	Replacement cost of the sign.
Inside/ Outside	Select whether the sign being scheduled is located inside or outside.
Description	Detail the type and size of the sign being insured. Specify lettering or ornamentation, including mechanical parts or lighting. Also include neon light, electrical, florescent bulbs, and other information as appropriate.
