Sticky Notes

Use this application to give your Notes the ability to become sticky and act like a "post it" note.

What is this?

Automatic

Set your Sticky Notes to automatically appear on top of any application in your User Options Display Options. Then after you log into AMS 360, Personal sticky notes appear instantly in their own tab. A Customer sticky note tab appears only when the customer is open in the Customer Center.

On Demand

If you prefer to view your notes on demand, leave the User Options Display Options unchecked, and click the Sticky Notes button in the Customer Center.

Sticky Note Button

Sticky Note Button appears when a note has been applied to a customer or policy.

    ClosedAccessing Sticky Notes

To enter a Sticky Note, do the following:

  1. Sticky Notes are entered from the existing Note form.

  2. Click Notes/New.

  3. When accessed from the Customer Center, the Type of note defaults to Generaland the note is considered aCustomer Centernote. The Centerfield says "Customer". TheMake Stickycheckbox is available.

  4. When accessed from the User Center, the Type of note defaults to Personal and the note is considered a Personal note with the logged in user as the Assigned To. The Center field is disabled. The Make Sticky checkbox is available.

  5. Once in the Note form, you can click the Personal option and change the note to a personal note where the Make Sticky checkbox is available. Or, click the General option, select Customer from the Center field and make the note a Customer Center note where the Make Sticky checkbox is available.

  6. The Make Sticky checkbox is not available from any other type of center note.

  1. Check the Make Stickycheckbox.

The Sticky Notes Toolbar includes the following icons:

Icon

What is this?

New Note

Use to open the Notes data entry form and add a new note.

Dock

Use to move the Sticky Notes application to a different location on your desktop. Click the icon's down arrow and choose:

  • Left

  • Right

  • Top

  • Bottom

Sort

Use to sort the Notes appearing in the tabs. Click the icon's down arrow and choose:

  • Priority

  • Note Date

Pin

Use to automatically reduce the Sticky Notes application to a thin bar that contains the tabs only. The full application only appears when you move your mouse over the bar. Clicking this icon again expands the Sticky Notes application to its full size again.

Hide

Use to hide Sticky Notes application. The application reappears when the on-demand Sticky Notes icon is selected, or when;

  • A new customer is opened where Sticky Notes exist

  • A new customer Sticky Notes is created

Only applies when Auto Launch is selected in User Options.

Display Toolbar

Appears when the Sticky Notes application is reduced to a thin bar. Use to display the Sticky Notes toolbar.

    ClosedSort Order

The notes are organized based on the type of note, Personal and then Customer. Within the Personal and the specific Customer tabs, the notes are then sorted by Priority (critical, normal or low) or by Note Date, whichever the user selects.

Select the sort option you wish by clicking the Sort () icon on the toolbar and selecting either:

  • Priority

  • Note Date

    ClosedNote Header

The date the Note was entered appears in the note header. If the note is for a policy or claim, the following information appears in addition to the date:

  • Policy Number - Notes entered for a policy.

  • Claim Number/Claim Date - Notes entered for a claim.

    ClosedColors

The colors for Sticky Notes are controlled by the settings in Color Setup. The colors can be modified for each individual user.

    ClosedNew Sticky Notes

New Sticky Notes appear automatically when entered, so there is no need to refresh the screen.

    ClosedDocking the Sticky Note

You can change the location of the Sticky Notes display by clicking the docking () icon on the Sticky Notes toolbar and selecting a location on the screen.

  • Left

  • Right

  • Top

  • Bottom

Notes that are docked to the top or bottom of the screen appear horizontally.  Notes docked on the left or right side of the screen appear vertically.

AMS360 remembers the last location you selected so when you log off and log on again, the display is in the last location you chose for it.

    ClosedMultiple Customers/Separate Browser Sessions

If multiple customers are opened via separate browser sessions, those customers with a sticky note, also has a sticky note tab appearing in the Sticky Note application.

The sticky note tab focus is on the active customer for that session. Each Sticky Note tab has its own close capability via an X.

When the tab is closed it does not relaunch until a new Sticky Note is created for that customer, (Only applies when Auto Launch is selected in User Options) or the on-demand Sticky Note icon is selected.

    ClosedEditing and Deleting Sticky Notes

     ClosedEditing

Edit a Sticky Note in one of the following ways:

  • Double-click the Sticky Note that you want to edit. Edit as needed and then Save and Close.

  • Right-click the Sticky Note that you want to edit and select Edit from the menu that appears. Edit as needed and then Save and Close.

  • From any center or data entry form that has a Notes menu, click Notes > View and then use the Customer Search option to find the Note and open it. Edit as needed. Click Save and Close.

    ClosedDeleting

Delete a Sticky Note in one of the following ways:

  • Double-click the Sticky Note that you want to delete. From the File menu select Delete or click the Delete () icon on the toolbar. Click Save and Close.

  • Right-click the Sticky Note that you want to delete and select Delete from the menu that appears.

  • From any center or data entry form that has a Notes menu, click Notes > View and then use the Customer Search option to find the Note. Select the Note in the grid, right-click, and choose Delete, or click Delete on the Notes List section menu. Click Save & Close.
