Use the EPI Wizard to create and issue the ACORD 27 Evidence of Property Insurance form or the ACORD 28 Evidence of Commercial Property Insurance form as proof an insured's policy is in force.
This wizard is an interactive utility that guides you through the EPI creation process using a series of sequential tabs. These five tabs provide the framework you need to create
To ensure that as much information as possible flows to EPI forms, enter as much detail as possible on the five tabs.
How to access this wizard
- Look up and load the client. The Client Details page appears.
- From the Client Primary Navigation, select Forms > ACORD 27 Evidence of Property or ACORD 28 Commercial Evidence of Property.
- Click Add to launch the EPI wizard. The Evidence of Property Selections page appears. The Policies tab is highlighted.
Personalization
You can use the Certificate of Insurance/Evidence of Property Personalization page, the Role Based Security page, or a combination of the options on both to control staff access to EPI forms.
The options available on the Certificate of Insurance/Evidence of Property Personalization page affect how you can create EPI forms using the EPI wizard.
These options affect:
- Whether applications, binders, and cancelled or expired policies are displayed on the Policies tab of the EPI Wizard; and
- Supplemental Names, and how and where they are used;
- Whether only active Additional Interests appear on the AOI tab;
- Whether Condo Owners are included on the Evidence of Property Insurance form; and
- Which information is included in the Remarks/Special Conditions on Evidence of Property forms.
The selections that you make here can simplify your EPI creation process.
You can also use Role-Based Security to control access to EPIs. Role Based Security Maintenance determines which staff members or staff members assigned to roles can view options that are not displayed to other staff members. For more information, see Role Based Security Page.
On this page, there are options at the client level and the policy level to control the:
- "No. Cancellation Days" option on the on the AOI; and
- "No. Days for Non-Payment" on the AOI for EPIs.
EPI functions
You can create a new EPI for any additional/other interest (
You can reprint and delete existing EPIs.
You can print two types of EPI schedules. The Schedule of Evidence of Property lists all the EPIs that have been issued on a policy. The Schedule of Evidence of Property Holders lists the AOIs associated with a particular EPI.
Sagitta Supports Two Evidence of Property Insurance Forms
Sagitta currently supports the following two Evidence of Property forms:
- ACORD 27 Evidence of Property Insurance (versions 1993/03 and the 2006/07) -- This form can be used for both Commercial and Personal Property Lines of Business.
- ACORD
28 Evidence of Commercial Property Insurance (versions 2003/10
and the 2006/07) -- This form is for Commercial Property only
and is used for Commercial Lines Property Insurance, as a coverage
statement for mortgages, additional insureds, and loss payees who
provide mortgages or Loans on real property insured under a Commercial
Lines policy. This form is available from the Sagitta Forms menu.
Based on personalization settings, Coverage and/or Schedule information for Commercial Property, Installation/Builders Risk, Equipment, Commercial Auto Vehicles and Garage & Dealers appears on the ACORD 28 form.
The Evidence of Property form (ACORD 27 and ACORD 28) listed in the first line of the Printed Forms Maintenance page. is the default selection when you create EPIs. You can select any other form version listed in the record on the Form Version drop down in the Other section of the Policies tab of the EPI Wizard.
If the "ALWAYS USE THE MOST CURRENT ACORD FORM VERSION?" option is checked off on the Sagitta Browser Options page only the form version listed in the first line of the Printed Forms Maintenance page is available and the Form Version drop down will not display on the Policies tab. After you select the version of the form or use the default, that template, as well as any other EPI attached to that template, is created for using that version of the form.
