The maximum date range limitation on searching for license application or renewal status is 365 days.

A license application, renewal, or reinstatement must have an Approved or Processed result with no messages indicating the transaction is on hold, or it will not be available to print using the Print a License service. In the case of a new license, the license also must have a license number from the state.

Results are best printed in landscape orientation.

Occasionally a state will reverse its response to a single license application or renewal request. For example, a state may initially issue an Under State Review result to a qualification but then subsequently issue an Approved result. To help accommodate this situation, you may filter the results to include only those where a state issued more than one response to a license and/or qualification application. First, use the State Results Date search criteria, and then click to select the Yes radio button in the Only Include Duplicate Responses field. Then you may use the lookup results to manually update your internal licensing records.

When necessary you can attach supporting documents to a license application or renewal to certain states and submit the documents directly and securely to the state department of insurance. In the lookup results, a license that requires a document attachment will offer the Attach Supporting Documentation button () in the Action column. Click the button to open the Attach Supporting Documents page. There, you can browse for the supporting document in electronic format on your computer system, provide a description to give context for the reviewer, and then upload the document to the license application or renewal. Help links are available to answer frequently asked questions about the electronic document attachment service.

If you are using the NAIC/NIPR Attachments Warehouse to upload supporting background question documentation, you can view information on how to access the service in the Description field. (For more information, see Upload Documentation to the NIPR Document Warehouse.)
