Assign New Levels to Hierarchy Templates

If you have system administrator permissions, use the Assign New Levels to Hierarchy Templates page to assign one or multiple ordered hierarchy levels to an existing hierarchy template.

To open the Assign New Levels to Hierarchy Templates page, click the Save Changes button on the Maintain Hierarchy Levels page.

The Assign New Levels to Hierarchy Templates page contains the following sections:

ClosedNew Levels

Lists the roles that are configured to be in ordered levels on the Maintain Hierarchy Levels page. A role that is eligible to be assigned to a hierarchy template is shaded green and indented right.

ClosedAdd [SelectedOrderedLevel] to Existing Hierarchy Templates

Displays in a table the hierarchy templates to which a selected role displaying in the New Levels section is eligible to be assigned.

Fields and controls include the following:

  • Select checkbox: Click to checkmark the checkbox corresponding to a hierarchy template to which you want to assign the eligible role displaying in the New Levels section.

  • Name: For each hierarchy template displaying in the table, displays its name.

  • Description: For each hierarchy template displaying in the table, displays its text description.

  • Status: For each hierarchy template displaying in the table, displays its current status, either Active or Inactive.

  • Base Level: For each hierarchy template displaying in the table, displays the role that is serving as the base level in any agreements governed by the hierarchy template.

  • Hierarchy Levels: For each hierarchy template displaying in the table, displays the role(s) that is currently dominant to the Base Level role in any agreements governed by the hierarchy template. A single-level hierarchy template (Base Level only) does not display information in this field but may be updated to become a multi-level hierarchy template.

  • Start Date: For each hierarchy template displaying in the table with an Active Status, displays the date on which it became active.

  • End Date: For each hierarchy template displaying in the table with an Inactive Status, displays the date on which it became inactive.

ClosedPage Controls

Fields and controls include the following:

  • Previous: If you are assigning the first role in an ordered hierarchy to a hierarchy template, click to re-open the Maintain Hierarchy Levels page. Or, if you are assigning a subsequent role in an ordered hierarchy to a hierarchy template, click to re-select the preceding role.

  • Next: Click to select assign a subsequent role in an ordered hierarchy to a hierarchy template.

  • Save: Click to commit all changes and open the Maintain Hierarchy Levels page.

Notes

Note: You cannot assign a role to a hierarchy template that is already serving as the base level in the same template. Click the Next button to continue.

Note: Role names listed in the New Levels section are derived from the short descriptions of roles that are user-configurable in the AGRMT_PRDCR_ROLE_CD code group on the Maintain Codes page.
