Notes

Note: The hierarchy levels available in the Base Level dropdown menu are configured in the Ordered Levels section of the Maintain Hierarchy Levels page. When you select a Base Level, levels that are dominant to the selected role will display in the Allowed Parent Levels field in the Hierarchy Levels section.

Note: The system will alert you if you attempt to save a hierarchy template with a structure that is identical to an existing hierarchy template. You can choose to cancel or continue with the operation.

Note: When adding an agreement to a producer's record, the system does not require you to select a hierarchy template. A hierarchy template is necessary only when you are creating a single-level hierarchy or a multi-level hierarchy by tying multiple producer agreements together.

Tips

If your company is managing agreements where only the immediate parent in a producer's upline is tracked as being at a specific, ordered level (referred to as "single-level" or “loose" hierarchy), then you should add a hierarchy template for each level in the agreement. For example, if you have configured one agreement type with three levels (e.g., MGA, GA, and Agent), then you will need three hierarchy templates -- one for MGA only (base level), one for MGA and GA (GA base level), and one for MGA, GA, and Agent (Agent base level). This will allow you to select the appropriate hierarchy template for each producer in a new agreement hierarchy.
