Reassign Downline to a new Parent Agreement

Use the Reassign Downline to a new Parent Agreement page to select an agreement to which to transfer child agreements belonging to another agreement. Typically this operation is used to transfer one agreement's downlines to another agreement belonging to the same producer; however, you can use it to transfer entire downlines from one producer to another.

To open the Reassign Downline to a new Parent Agreement page, choose one of the following methods:

  • From the Licensing menu select Agreements, and then select Review/Update Agreement. Perform a Producer Search for an existing agreement, and then in the Child Agreements subsection of the agreement, click the Move Children to Another Agreement link.

  • In the Child Agreements subsection of the Agreements data section of a producer record open in the Review/Update Producer page, click the Move Children to Another Agreement link.

The Reassign Downline to a new Parent Agreement page contains the following sections:

ClosedCurrent Agreements

Displays all agreements to which the selected producer is currently party, except for the selected agreement to which child agreements currently are assigned.

If the producer is not party to any other agreements, the following message will display in the table: "Nothing found to display." In that case, you can search for an agreement belonging to another producer to which to reassign child agreements.

Fields and controls include the following:

  • Search for a different Parent Agreement: Click to open the Search Agreement page, where you can search for an agreement belonging to a different producer.

  • [Producer Name]: For each listed agreement, displays the name of the individual or firm producer whose agreement currently is selected.

  • Type: For each listed agreement, displays the agreement type.

  • Status: For each listed agreement, displays the agreement's status, either Active or Inactive.

  • Start Date: For each listed agreement, displays the date on which the agreement became active.

  • End Date: Inactive agreements only. Displays the date on which the agreement became inactive.
  • Hierarchy Template: For each listed agreement, displays the hierarchy template in force on the agreement.
  • Business Unit: For each listed agreement, displays the associated business unit.
  • External System ID: For each listed agreement, displays the associated external system identifier.
  • Level ID: For each listed agreement, displays the agreement level ID.
  • Actions: For each listed agreement, offers the following controls:
  • Choose New Parent Agreement(): Click to open the Move Children to Another Agreement page, where you can reassign to a selected new parent agreement all child agreements from the original parent agreement.

Note: If your company is using multi-level hierarchy validation when tracking business agreements among producers, firms, and appointing companies, you can reassign a downline to a different agreement, as long as the destination agreement has the same base level and upline definition as the current agreement. If you have the permissions to do so, you can check whether your company is using multi- or single-level hierarchy validation by reviewing the information at the bottom left of the Maintain Hierarchy Templates page.
