Producer Business Rules
Use the Producer Business Rules data section of a producer record to view global, user-configured business rules that have been customized for the selected producer. A customized business rule applies only to the selected producer; global business rule settings apply elsewhere. (For more information, see Administer Producer Business Rules.)
To review a producer's Producer Business Rules, click the Producer Business Rules link in the Quick Links box of a producer record that is open in the Review/Update Producer page.
The Producer Business Rules data section includes the following fields and controls:
-
Rule Name: For each customized producer business rule listed, displays its name.
-
Value: For each customized producer business rule listed, displays its customized setting.
-
Update Producer Business Rules: Click to open the Producer Business Rules page, where you can manually maintain a producer's customized producer business rule information.
Notes
Note: The Value field will always reflect a setting that is opposite of the default or global producer business rule setting. For more information, see Administer Producer Business Rules.
Note: For more information about user-configurable business rules, see Configuration Options.
Tips
A firm that is the branch agency of a master agency may share an identical EIN with the master agency. The licenses held by both the branch and master agencies in a particular state may be reported on the national Producer Database (PDB) identically, except for license number. When performing an automated data reconciliation operation and encountering a situation where a firm entity holds multiple licenses of the same class or type in the same state, Producer Manager ignores the information and does not update the firm's record with PDB data from that state. Depending on your company's business practices, this situation may require manual data upkeep of the master and branch agencies' license data. After manually recording license data on the master and/or branch agency records, you may configure the ALLOW_SYNCS_TO_BE_SCHEDULED Producer Business Rule to protect the firm records from being overwritten inadvertently by a Scheduled Syncs automated data reconciliation operation. (Note that this business rule will not protect records from automated updates resulting from a Quick Sync Producer operation). You also may set the Locked From Data Reconciliation Updates option on the Correct License Data page to protect license and qualification from any automated data reconciliation operation.
